Tessa
Everything happens at the right time.. even the Bible says that to... a time to love, a time to be loved, a time to give and a time to take.....
Am Tessa philips, an average teenager . I just turned 18 and yes I still live with my parents.

I have one  friend by name Sarah.. she's actually my best friend.. my dad is a reverend and my mum, let's just say she's pretty much his assistant.

I have been really all to myself. In school, in the church, at home, I hardly talked to anyone.. most people called me mute.. others a snob, but that wasn't it.

So it happened that I was diagnosed with sepsis since I was like 12. Its a blood infection, where toxic chemicals are found in your blood, which can lead to cancer of the blood if not treated on time so, I started treatments right on time but it was hard to cure due to the fact my immune system is  weak.. so I have been on medications.. in and out of the hospital, really hoping I
Would get better one day although I really don't have a difference with a cancer patient...

No body knows about my illness that apart my family, Sarah inclusive.. we have been friends for a very long time that she turned family. virtually Tessa knows everyone but not everyone knows Tessa.. well people call me the preacher's kid, holy Mary! And all sorts of religious names. Being a preachers kid wasn't that bad, although I had restrictions, I pulled through.

Today is Sunday! There I stood looking at my pale self reflection. I wore a gown which was very modest.. daddy always says "a girl must dress modest" I slipped on my flats and then fixed my hat Mum got for me as a birthday gift.. my dad and Mum where already downstairs. I met them and dad drove to church.
********
The service went well. Mum was the choir head.. most times I sing with the choir but of late I have not been available due to the  fact I got more sick.. everyone thought it was because of the finals that's coming up soon and I need to be on track.
I stood at the choir stand packing up the hymn books when I noticed someone sitting by edge of the congregation seat.. he had a honey brown hair, he was putting on a black leather jacket. His forehead resting on his hand that leaned towards the bench in his front.. walking into the music room, I placed the hymn books on the shelve. Running my hands through some books when I felt someone behind me.

"Hmmm, I think u left this" a voice from behind me said. I turned around and I was shocked by who it was. It was Daniel figgers. People call him Danny for short, His like the most popular guy in school. every girl would literally die for him.
It happens that I and Danny had been in the same class since 6th grade but has never exchanged a word.

"Are u gonna take it!, or can I take it home. But that would virtually be stealing God's stuff, yh" he said as he laughed a little.

"I.....hmm..yh..yes.. I would take it" I stammered in between my words..

I was shocked for two reasons.. firstly Danny was in church till the end of it.. most times he leaves the church even before the service get started or he doesn't show up at all.. and secondly he spoke to me..

Stretching out my hands to reach for the hymn book in his hand and then placing it among the rest.

"Am Daniel figger! Danny for short" he said to me.

"Tessa, Tessa philips! The"

"The reverends daughter! Yeah I know you:. You the preachers kid." He said as he interrupted my introduction.

"Nice meeting you Tessa!"

"Pleasure is mine" I said as looked down shyly at my feet.

This was actually the first real conversation I was having and to make it more interesting the most popular guy in school.

He was about saying a word when I heard Sarah calling out my name as she approached the music room.

"Tessa!tes...." she went mute as she sighted Danny. I could see a shocked deadpan look on her face. Yeah right I had the same look too.

"Oh! Hey Sarah!" Danny said as he waved a little to her.

"Hey Daniel" she replied as she walked towards me whispering into my ears.

"I have to go Daniel." I said as I walked towards the exit of the music with Sarah but was stopped when I heard my name.

"Tessa!"

I turned around now facing him

"See you later I guess"
I couldn't think of a word to say. All I could do was give an approving nod as I walked out.

The drive home was silent. My mind kept drifting back to Danny! I know I just met him but then he was my first real conversation in years.

The Sunday went pretty okay:.  After dinner .The house was quiet as usual, Sarah dint come over today cause she had to go do some visiting with her Mum.  Walking to my bathroom. I took a quick shower and then to my cabinet where my drugs were  kept, I took them
Faithfully one after the other and the finally straight to bed.
