Diana Lopez
"I'm going to be late..." I said repeatedly as I made a mad dash for the door.
It was three days after Mason woke up and it was our fist day, I just had to be that idiot that had to oversleep. I will have to remember that next time not to stay up until late playing a good old game of cards against humans with my company members. I was so angry at myself that day that I was probably turning redder every minute that passed. I had to get there fast as I could. After all, I was already five minutes late and I knew that the instructor was going to chew my ass like it was bubblegum as soon I walk in.
I stopped in front of a board containing a list of where the locations of each classroom were located. I had to get to anatomy one o' one which was fortunately on the first floor but it was on the other side of the building if I followed the rows of room numbers. It did not take me long to have a slight accident along the way, I slipped on a puddle of water that a janitor was cleaning up. He seemed more annoyed now that he needed to clean it once more.
"I am so sorry!" I said as I got up resuming mad dash towards the room.
I was able to make it to the class, but not before I cause a commotion by barging in almost as if I was the police. I did not think this through, the commotion caused everyone in the room to turn their heads towards. To make things worse, I was at the right room and the entire company was there present. The room was so quiet, that you could hear your own heartbeat.
"You... What is your name and rank..." the instructor demanded with a unique Gaulish accent as she stood in front of the company with an intense glare with a pair of unusual purple eyes. Yet she seemed so... beautiful and sweet even though it felt I was about to be sent to the guillotine.
"R-recruit D-diana Lopez ma'am!" I said nervously standing in attention as she began to walk up towards me with a horse whip in hand. The the tapping of her high heels could be heard echoing throughout the room while others looked on anxiously.
"You must be very bold to enter my class like this..." the instructor said looking down at me as if I was an insignificant insect. At least, that is how I truly felt like at the time.
"I-i am sorry ma'am! I overslept!!" I said as she inched herself closer to my face. Even though her ominous look made me even consider writing my last will, I could not help but admire her beauty.
"That is no excuse child, you are now a woman and as such you must take responsibility for your actions." she said before slapping my arm before I flinched.
"M-ma'am! With all due respect, I'm not making an excuse! I know it is my responsibility to be on time and I will take any sort of punishment you give me!" I yelled as she gave me a sinister smirk.
"Do not be so nervous my dear... I will let this slide but only because you were brave enough to admit your own fault. But I will be keeping an eye on you... you have peaked my interest..." she said beginning to walk towards the board containing a diagram of a husk's body.
"T-thank you m-ma'am!" I said still in attention.
"Take a seat child..." she commanded before I quickly took a seat in the back next to some middle aged man who looked at me sharply.
The class was uneventful just like they all tend to be on the first day. Turns out the instructor was First Sergeant Bellrose. Some of the older recruits call her the white devil since she was known to be one of the most unforgiving instructors of the base.
My older peers took pity on me since and said that Instructor Bellrose was not someone who was easy to please. The class ended with no issues, but I could never shake off the feeling that the first sergeant was observing me constantly like an eagle circling its prey.
