I thought I saw his smile falter for a bit then he scoffed and laughed.
"Astrid, please. I just had lunch." He said.
I rolled my eyes. "Charming. So do we have a deal?" I asked, extended my hand out.
He stared at me for a bit. Almost like he's reading me.
"You've got more than 5 rules on your mind huh?" He asked, crossing his arms across his chest.
Damn those toned arms. When the hell did those scrawny arms evolve? Okay, stop it Astrid.
"You know me so well." I smirked at him.
"Can we talk about the other rules first?" I laughed.
"Scared?" He looked offended.
"No, I just wanna know what I'm getting into." He said. I resisted the urge to slap him.
"You're one to talk." I muttered.
Just then, the bell rang, signalling that lunch was over. "We'll talk about at the Pizza Palace after school." He said then took off, leaving me alone on the grounds.
"Bye, then!" I yelled, annoyed then ran to my next class.
-
Heather and I were walking towards the school's front doors after homeroom and out the parking lot when she said, "Man, I can't believe my brother actually made you say yes to this insane plan!"I smirked. "Oh, we haven't sealed the deal yet, H."
Her brows furrowed in confusion. "What? But you guys nailed it a while ago at lunch!"
"That's because he threatened to spread my 9th birthday picture. I'm sure you still remember that." I said.
Heather's expression changed from confused to amused. She cracked up at the memory, wiping her eyes and messing her mascara in the process. I watched her laugh for a solid minute then nudged her in the ribs.
"Oh, will you shut it? It's not funny!" I complained but she kept going.
"Yes it was! It's not everyday you see your soul sister kissing Brad Pitt! Priceless, A. Priceless."
I rolled my eyes. "Cute. Let me know when you're done, yeah?"
She calmed down after a few minutes then said, "So what are you two planning to do then? Camicazi still dreams of becoming a Haddock one day. Ugh. Disgusting." I laughed despite my annoyance.
"Hiccup told me to meet him at Pizza Palace. I told him I needed to discuss a few rules before we get into this mess." I explained as we walked towards her car.
"Huh. Alright, I'll drive you there." Heather offered. Dad took my car to work today because his car wouldn't start and he woke up late today so Heather picked me up this morning.
"Thanks, H." I said as we walked towards her car. Suddenly, a familiar jeep halted in front of us.
"Hey, nerd. Get in." Hiccup said as he rolled down the window.
I growled at the nickname. "Hey, aren't you aware of the name given to me?" He smirked.
"No, I am. Nerd just suits you better. Hey sis! Mind if I borrow her for a while?" I looked at Heather, shaking my head. She rolled her eyes then nodded at Hiccup.
"Sure, bro." I groaned internally then gave her the "you're so dead" glare. "Come on. You two need to bond!" She reasoned.
I raised a brow at her. "No, we don't!"
"Hey, I haven't got all day, you know." Hiccup said as he beeped the horn of his car. I took a deep breathe then got into the passenger seat.
"Have fun!" Heather laughed. I gave her one last glare before Hiccup pulled out of the parking lot.
-
"Okay, rule number one: No falling in love." I said as I wrote it down on a piece of paper. Hiccup rolled his eyes."Yeah we talked about that."
"Rule number two: No flirting." I continued. Hiccup snickered. I gave him a confused look. "What?"
"Jealous, Astrid?" He teased. I flicked him on the forehead.
"No, you muttonhead. I think it's pretty self explanatory." He took out his phone and started typing on it.
"Go on." He said, motioning for me to continue.
"Number three: hand-holding and hugging is only allowed at school."
"Really? What if we're in public and Cami sees-"
"Okay fine! Such contact is allowed anywhere AS LONG AS the she-beast or anyone at school is around. If not, no-touchy. Got it?" He saluted.
"Okay, next rule-"
"How many are there?" He asked, cutting me off. "A fair few." I answered as I scribbled on the paper.
We discussed a few more rules as we ate our pizza like we only go on dates to post something on social media and stuff or he'll only take me to school and back home every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We were almost done sipping our milkshakes when we got to the most important rule.
"Okay, last and most important rule."
"Thank Thor!" He muttered. "No kissing."
His eyes widened. "Are you crazy? What couple doesn't kiss?!" He exclaimed.
"Us, dummy."
He groaned. "How are we going to convince her that we're together if we don't kiss?!"
"Hiccup, there are so many ways to convince people that we're dating." I said, giving him a deadpanned look.
"What, no cheek or forehead kisses as well? We used to do that as kids, for Thor's sake!" He said.
I blushed and pretended not to hear that last bit. He kept muttering reasons to why that last rule shouldn't apply then I realized this was just going to go on forever so I cut him off.
"Alright! Gods! We kiss only, and I mean ONLY, if really necessary."
He sighed in relief. "Thank gods."
I rolled my eyes. We then signed our names on the bottom of the paper to seal the deal then paid for our bill and he took me home.
"Thanks for the ride." I said as I unbuckled the seatbelt and got out of the car.
"No problem, girlfriend." He smirked.
I glared at him. "That's fake girlfriend to you, Haddock."
He rolled his eyes then said, "Yeah, whatever."
I shouldered my bag then walked up to the path leading to our front door. I was almost to the porch when he said, "Oh, by the way, I lost that picture of you on your 9th birthday years ago."
"WHAT?! Why you son of a-"
See ya, nerd!" He then took off, tires screeching and leaving me dumbfounded.
I growled in frustration then yelled, "HADDOCK!!!"
