Strangers

Mare's pov----

I feel the crack of the wip against my hide but no pain. I stopped feeling pain a long time ago. Im pushed forward my piebald legs stretched out in front of me in a slow lope. My rider gets off and un tacks me leaving me hot and without a blanket in the cold air.
They never did give me a name they just call me mare or the mare. Im supposed to be a race horse but haven't been in any races. I shiver and pace around in my small paddock. A car drives into the driveway and I snort at it. The car slows down and they look at me as I pin my ears and prance around. I strike out at the gate and it makes a strange noise. The human gets out along with a girl. The girl comes over to me the scares and my ribs now able to be seen. She looks over my long legs and neck. The door shuts and my rider comes out. He throws a saddle on me and puts a bit-less bridle on. I shake my head and he gets on. We walk over to the track and then he does something he has never done. He drops the reins I start off at a slow lope then a canter he pushes me into a slow gallop before letting go completely. I quicken my pace before im flying around the track my long legs stretching out in front of me. He begins to slow me down and I can sense the smile on his face. He pats me and swings himself down. "Im sorry girl." he whispers. The other humans take my reins and the girl swings herself up. I bounce with energy and she laughs before moving me to the trot. She asks me to canter then gallop. She laughs and I flick my ears. I quicken my pace and she starts to slow me down. I walk back to the others and the girl is still smiling. She looks at the human male that came with her. "we'll take her, what's her name?" "ain't got one." my rider replies. They nod slowly and take me away.
