Once I slow a human comes towards me. He has a soft look in his eyes as he strokes my nose. He hooks a lead to my bridle and starts leading me away. Im still trying to catch my breath but not as much as before. He strokes my neck as we walk and I snort at him. I arch my neck and dance a bit to the side just to see if I can get away with it. He tugs the lead a bit making me quit. I walk quietly bobbing my head up and down. The man hands my lead to another person and begins to walk away. The person tugs the lead harshly as they walk away jarring the bit in my mouth. I rear leaning back on my haunches and shaking my head. People around scatter and the person holding my lead drops it in shock and backs away with a startled yelp. They gather themselves quickly and rush for my lead. They grab it with a frown and drag me away. They drag me to a different trailer switching my bridle for an older leather halter. There is a dark bay gelding who nickers softly to me. They push him over and lead me in hooking my my head to the wall. They put a hay net in the middle and then close us in. The dark bay begins to paw at the floor and I pin my ears at him. The truck starts and we roll forward. My pinned ears relax a bit and I take a nibble of the hay. The bay gelding ignores me for the rest of the ride and we eventually roll to a stop. The door on the side is opened and someone hooks a lead to me. They lead me out and a teen aged human girl looks at me for a moment before running off. A person goes to a large red barn and after about fifteen minutes comes back a dew papers in hand. They bring me into a pen and attach the papers to a rail. The teenage girl comes over to my pen dragging an older man with her. They have a quick conversation and the teenager grins and wraps her arms around him. He says something to her and she shrugs and the girl goes bounding off. The man just stands there for a Moment before looking at me nodding his head and leaving. After a while a stranger comes to my pen and leads me out. They lead me to a large ring and unclip my lead. There are a few tarps and other odd items that a few people wave around at me but I ignore them. I walk around the sandy pen a bunch of people on the sidelines watching me. I hear a human start talking and pause "so this is a two year old filly, registered as star dancer who has very little training and comes from multiple abusive background, starting her at 500? Anybody for 500?"
Silence fills the air before one hand goes up in the crowd. I flick my ears and trace my wyes down the arm. Its the old man. The teenager sits next to him with her fingers folded in a weird way. The human begins to talk again. "going once......Twice..... Sold to that gentleman for 500." the person with the lead begins to come up to me and I decide to mess with him. I flag my tail and take off around the ring shaking my head and striking the air randomly. The announcer human says something and the crowd laughs. I turn quickly and arch my neck flaring my nose out. I huff when the human is still standing there lead in hand shaking their head. I trot over and begin begging for a treat, which me being me obviously get. Im lead out if the ring and am met outside by the excited teen. She takes my lead and begins to gently tug at it to get me to move. I huff and flick my ears out to the side. She walks into a trailer and I follow hesitantly. She unclips my lead and hooks the door behind me leaving me in basically a moving stall. There's a hay net hanging on the wall and I ignore it and decide to lay down for the ride. I hear some stuff being loaded into the back of the truck and that hastily stops when I lay down. I yawn laying on my belly as the door opens. The human has a worried look on their face that vanishes as I yawn again and lay flat out stretching my legs and half closing my eyes. They shake their head and close the door again. In a few seconds I hear the truck start and let sleep over take me.-dedication-
No, im not looking for sympathy but I dedicate this chapter to my cat who was 14 or 15 who passed away while on 1/1/20 during the making of this chapter. We got this cat before I was even born at 9 months old so I cant remember a time in my life without him. So chapters may be delayed or may not Idk. Anyways..........
