My brother Samuel looks like a gaping fish as his mouth opens and closes multiple times. It was quite entertaining. I hear Mirishka and Celeste chuckle in my mind. I guess i am not the only one who finds it quite funny to watch. I couldn't help but smirk at him as he looked to stunned to put any form of words together. "H..How? Wh..wh..what?", he stutters.
"Honestly, I am not quite sure myself Sam. I was just as shocked as you are right now when it finally sunk in. I am just glad to even have one.", I tell my brother. He finally gets over the initial shock and just grins at me. All three of us slowly meander towards him while he looks inbetween both my panther and dire wolf. I feel both Mirishka and Celeste inside my mind figuring out who this person is infront of us. They just eye him up and down as if they are accessing him. I feel them stop behind me as I reach the car beside my brother. I playfully shove at his shoulder and just couldn't shake the shit eating grin that is on my face. "You know what this means right, Sam?"
"Yeah I know. I was slightly hoping you wouldn't get one so you wouldn't have to leave. I am definitely going to miss you squirt.", Sam said with a hint of sadness in his voice. I just turn toward him and throw my left arm around his shoulders to comfort him as well as me. I never fully thought about how I would be leaving my family if I did get a protector. I couldn't help feel a little saddened by just thinking about it, but I know everything happens for a reason. Selene must have a reason for gifting me two protectors and I am determined to figure out why. Sam nudges me and says, "How are we going to get them back to the house? I know they can not fit into my car. Do you want me to call my bud Darren? He has a truck, or they could run with beside the car."
"Nah, I think we can make it back on our own."
"Okay sis. Just please let me know if something happens, alright?", Sam says.
"Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay mom.", I chuckle while telling him. He pulls me into a hug before he walks around the car to get into. He nods at me while he hops in and starts it. I turn around and look at my protectors while he backs away and leaves. "I think we can make it before he does. Are y'all up for a little race?", I ask them. Both Celeste and Mirishka do a slight nod agreeing. I can't help but chuckle to myself. "Okay, so just follow me. I know a shortcut." And with that we were off sprinting as fast as we could. I run down the road until I see Mrs. DeAngelo's house and turn towards her house. I can feel my protectors hot on my feet as I turn. I keep running until I see the 5 foot fence and leap over it doing a tuck and roll. While I am rolling back onto my feet out of the corner of my eye I see Celeste and Mirishka both leap over it. For about five minutes we kept up the pace and same method. We would run through backyards leaping over fences and running down roads. That was until I seen the giant Oak which was a half mile from our house. I knew we could make it. I nodded towards the right to turn. We ran so fast we looked liked blurs that last half mile. Ten feet ahead was our last fence. I ran as hard as I could and leaped over it and rolled onto my feet that last time. Once we were all in the back yard we slowed our pace and zigzagged around the trees towards the side of the house where the wrap around pirch is. As we reached the right side I took the steps onto the porch and walked around to the front and plopped down onto one if the chairs. Celeste trotted up next to my left and plopped down, and Mirishka sauntered up and jumped up onto the railing and laid down. We had been resting there for four minutes until I seen my brothers car round the corner before pulling into the drive way. He didnt even notice us there until after he got out of the car and turned around.

"Seriously Vi?! Did you sprint the whole way here?", he asked as he walked along the path towards the front of the porch.
"What else would you expect me to do bro?", I ask him jokingly. He just laughed while nodding.
"I should have figured." He just shakes his head. "Come on lets go inside. I will be in my room for a few minutes. Don't forget we have to visit the Coven house tonight. I might actually go ahead and get ready for it while I am in my room", he states while motioning toward the front door.
I groan as I get up. I really didnt want to go to the Coven house later this afternoon, but I have to. It is expected of me to since today is my birthday. Everyone who is an Immortal has to when they turn eighteen and come of age to get their powers or a protector. They will access you and afterwards decide where you will be placed inside the coven. I sigh and communicate with Celeste and Mirishka,"Come on you two. I'll grab you both some water while we are in there." I walk towards the front door where my brother left it open and leave it open. They both slowly walk in while looking around. I shut the door after Celeste gets inside. They take up alot of room inside of the entryway of the house. I squeeze by them and motion for them to follow me. I walk through the house past the living room and waved my hand towards it. "Y'all can go in there I will be right back." Mirishka meandered into the living room looking at all the furniture until her eyes landed on our tan lazy boy couch. She hopped onto it and stretched out while purring and started rubbing on it. I shook my head and started to head towards the kitchen. I walked past the island bar and the sink until I reached the cabinets. I opened up the one that held bowls and grabbed two of the big chip bowls out. I felt Celeste behind me. She was sitting beside the island bar just watching me intently. I turned around and walked toward the end of the island bar where the sink was and ran some cold water to fill the bowls up with. Once the first one was the quarters filled I slowly set it on the floor so Celeste could get a drink. She got up from her spot and padded next to me. She greedily drank the water at first and then slowly came to a stop when it was almost empty. I leaned down and picked the bowl back up and filled up back up to the same amount and set it on the bar. I filled up the other bowl the exact same. I picked them both up and walked out of the kitchen to the back sliding doors. I set the bowls down on the floor right up against the wall next to the doors. Once they were placed on the floor I raised up and looked at Celeste and said,"Can you get Mirishka. I know she has to be thirsty as well." Celeste slowly turned around and went to the living room. I heard a loud bark amd then they both emerged. Mirishka walked up to me and rubbed her head against my hip before she went to the bowl and started to slowly drink the water. I rubbed her back before I headed back to the living room. I walked into the room and jumped onto the love seat and laid down with my head and feet propped up on the ends. Celeste followed me again and laid down at the foot of the love seat. A minute later Mirishka wandered into the room and got back onto the lazy boy and curled back up. I could feel my eyes slowly start to close. I didnt realize how tired I was until I laid down. I could hear both of them breathing slowly as if they were taking a nap as well. The sound of their breathing eventually lulled me to sleep as well.
