Are You Pregnant?

-Chapter 17

Ivy's POV

Since Michael insist that I see a doctor I just went to my doctor since she was on call and she can squeeze me in.

"Okay Ms. Ivy what seems to be the problem?" Dr. Avery asked sitting down looking at me with her hands in her lap smiling at me.

"Okay so for the past week I have been really nauseous and sometimes I actually vomit and when I do I vomit the whole day. Then sometimes I get this weird smell when I'm cooking dinner or if anybody else is cooking dinner." I say and she looks at me and smile.

"Well my dear Ivy you just explained pregnancy symptoms and I'm pretty sure you have a 2 year old so this shouldn't be new." She says making Mrs. Matteson and Sophie laugh.

"No I can't be because I wasn't sick with Asia I just had really weird cravings." I say not wanting to believe that I'm pregnant again.

"Yes I get another grandbaby because from the looks of Nathan and Andrea will be waiting for a while." Mrs. Matteson says making me laugh and Sophie laugh as well.

Dr. Avery smiled and looked at me "Every pregnancy is different for every women and in your case your first pregnancy was just cravings and this pregnancy may be morning sickness, and enhanced senses." She says "But to be sure your pregnant I'm going to run a blood test and rush the results and a urine test, so...." She says grabbing a cup from the cabinet and handing it to me "now go pee in this cup and there is a bathroom over there."

I took the cup and went into the bathroom, after doing my business I came out and handed the cup to Dr. Avery.

"Okay let me go run these test and I will come find you later." She says leaving the room I sighed and looked at my mother and sister in law.

"Guys please don't tell anybody about this especially Michael. I want to tell everyone on my own in the right time okay?" I say as we started walking back to Where Michael, my dad, and /Mr. Matteson were.

"Don't worry baby we won't say a word." Mrs. Matteson says as we walked into Michael's room.

I went and sat next to Michael and Mrs. Matteson and Sophie sat down on the couch "So baby girl what did the doctor say?" My dad says looking up from his phone.

Michael looked at me "yeah baby how did it go?" I shrugged "it went good Dr. Avery is going to come find me later because we took a few test." I say just to ease their minds, but my dad and Michael looks at me with their eyebrows raised.

"Why are you two staring at me like that?" I asked kind of annoyed.

"Because I know your lying?" My dad says

"And I agree with your dad your lying to us!" Michael says giving me a side eye and before I could respond the door opened revealing Dr. Avery. Thank goodness saved by the doctor.

"Ms. Ivy I have your results would like to come with me?" She say and nod my head I kiss my Michael's cheek and walked towards the door where Dr. Avery was, I turned and looked at Sophie and Mrs. Matteson "come on you two." I say leaving and Sophie and Mrs. Matteson follow right behind.

We go to her office where my dad and Michael couldn't hear because knowing my dad he would have been eavesdropping on the conversation. As we got in her office we took a seat and she begin to explain.

"So Ivy you are indeed pregnant 3 months to be exact." Dr. Avery says making me look at her shocked.

"3 months I'm 3 months pregnant meaning I'm nearing my second trimester!"

She smiled and nodded "Yes ma'am."

"Yes I get another grandbaby oh I can't wait." Mrs. Matteson says jumping up and down but then she stopped and looked at Dr. Avery. "If she is 3 months then why didn't she notice signs earlier?" She asked making me think the same thing.

"Well like I said before all pregnancies are different but I do understand your concern so I'm going to an ultrasound to make sure everything is alright." She says easing our minds just a little bit.

Dr. Avery set up the ultrasound room and now I'm laying down on my back as Dr. Avery prepared the equipment.

"Okay lift your shirt and this gel is going to be a little cold." She says squeezing the gel on my stomach and then placing the wand town nd started moving it around. Soon we all see my baby on the screen. "See here's your baby and everything looks perfectly fine, would you like to hear the heartbeat?" She asked and I nodded my head.

"But is there anyway this could be recorded because I want to show Michael the baby and the heartbeat?" I asked looking at the monitor.

"You sure can." Dr. Avery says then you hear, "thump. thump. thump, thump!"

"that's a strong heartbeat." Sophie says earning a smile from Dr. Avery.

"Yes it is very strong." She says removing the wand and grabbing me some paper towel to clean off my stomach.

"So Dr. Avery when will she be able to know the gender?" Mrs. Matteson asked as I sat up and adjusted my clothes as Dr. Avery gave me my ultrasound DVD.

"In 2 months we will be able to see if its a boy or girl." She says handing me a prescription for my prenatal vitamins.

"Okay that's everything have nice day and Ivy before you leave make an appoint for next week at the front desk." She says leaving the room as well as leaving me to process everything.

After getting the news and the DVD we made our way back to Michael's recovery room "So what did she say what's wrong." I couldn't hold smile neither could Sophie and Mrs. Matteson.

"Why are y 'all smiling?" Mr. Matteson asked and my dad and Michael all looked at us crazy..

"Okay I have to show you guys something." I say calling a nurse so she can plug the DVD player to the tv.

After the DVD player was plugged up I put in the ultrasound disc. "Okay what are we looking at here?" Mr. Matteson says looking at the tv screen confused along with my dad and Michael and as Mrs. Matteson was about to answer you hear the baby's heartbeat.

Michael turns and looks at me followed by my dad and Mr. Matteson with smiles on their faces.

"Are you pregnant?" They ask at the same time and I smile.

"Yes I am congratulations daddy and granddaddies!" I say looking at their happy faces.
