chapter 12: a knife in the dark

  Ilia's pov  

after reaver told me about a woman he fell in love with and married and about her dying, i felt bad for him and i think i'm a little bit jealous of the girl, i know its bad to be jealous of a dead woman but i am, she got to spend time with reaver, got to love him and receive his love for her right back, it must have been true love that they had, i've now gone threw all the papers, mostly maps and plans and stuff, oh and iris's field journal, she put down everything that happened to her trying to find me, about the places she went to and people she met oh and how many pirates she had to kill.........i wound up only staying on the island for another week then went back home, if i said that reaver did not try anything with me id be lying, he tried to get me to bath with him, he tried to get me to go swimming with nothing on and he tried to get me into bed with him, i'm not sure if he is in love with me or if he simply just wants to sleep with me? i mean how he acts around me in public its like he has a crush on me or something and when in private he acts seductive and sexual, i decline his offers only because 1: i'm only 17 and 2: my brother would kill him if he tried heh, once home i see my maid Maryann, she has been my maid for a few months now, a little while before everything that happened, she started being my personal maid a few days before i was kidnapped.......she has red hair and blue eyes and kinda pail skin, she is always in a maids outfit with a bandanna on her head, i think its to keep her hair down or something, my brother dose not really like or trust her and neither dose reaver, but she is one of the only people who is actually really nice too me even if its just her job, she is very mysterious, all the maids live in the maid's quarters except her, after she is done cleaning and getting me stuff she vanishes and know one knows were she goes to after her job is done, maybe she has a place in Bowerstone? its been about a few weeks since i've been home and Maryann, my maid has been missing and reaver has been staying here in the castle for a few days doing stuff for my brother, i have no idea what though, one night well i was in my room drawing, its raining a lot outside and i jump every time i hear the thunder outside, i got a bit hungry so i left my room and looked around, the candles were not very bright so it felt very dark and i felt alone, there was no noises or anything, its very strange and i got an uneasy feeling in my gut and i looked around and my eyes go wide seeing a window open and a guard laying dead with a gold jeweled dagger in his chest! i let out a bloodcurdling cream, i knew if i screamed then help would come, i turned and i saw a woman in all black with a mask on and her red hair shined when lightning flashed! then she ran at me! i'm glad that my brother let me carry around my purple jeweled hammer for protection, i held it up and to my surprise, she jumped over me and landed on the ground and grabbed the dagger and attacked me! who is she? i blocked her attacks and dodged them as much as i could, she was very fast and cut my right arm! it was just a scratch, i fought her until she missed me hitting a wall getting her dagger stuck! we both heard running and she bolted out the window! i ran to the window and saw her running across the roof then jumped! she landed on her feet at the bottom then looked up at me and i swear her eyes were red then she ran away! no that's not possible! who and what is she?! anyone who jumps off the castle roof would die! no way! i turn around and see my brother and his guards then i see reaver behind my brother.

Logan: what happened?! are you ok?!?!
me: s.......someone broke in and..........the guard........he is dead.......

i was shaking and reaver walked over to me and looked around some

reaver: your bleeding..........who attacked you?

me: i......i don't know.......she was in all black and her eyes were red.......and she had a dagger.......

i pointed to the dagger in the wall and reaver went over to it and i see him pull it out of the wall and he turns a bit pale and shaky, and turned around mumbling about something he had to do and left, he was acting weird, i hope he is ok, a week passed and i still have not seen Maryann.......i do hope she is ok, reaver has been gone too and i felt very alone, then one day as i was sitting outside on a bench i see Elliot walk up to me, he was taller than me by a bit and he looked nervous as all hell and i see him take a breath and i watched him kinda stumble a little.

Elliot: uh hi.......Ilia......uh i was wondering if maybe you uh wanted to be my friend?
me: id love to be your friend Elliot 

since then me and Elliot became fast friends, why dose reaver hate him so very much? i have not seen reaver in a while now and it pains me so, Elliot has been here for me, my brother has not found the woman who attacked me, i wonder if reaver knows who she is?

Reaver's pov 

after i saw the dagger i knew who attacked my sweet princess........but that's not possible! that woman should be dead! i looked over it and found the words R X R carved into the steal, this dagger was made by me for Rose my long dead wife........or so i thought! this is not good! as i'm in my study looking at the dagger i hear my doors open then see Berry out of breath and said something about a woman here to see me claiming to be my wife............i quickly got up and i see Berry being pushed to the side and a woman with red hair and blue eyes in a green dress standing there and i recognized her, the maid who appeared at my house then at the castle working as the princess's personal maid.

me: i dont know why you are here and claiming to be-
Rose: don't you recognize me reaver? its me, Rose, you know, the one you married
me: no! this is not possible! i.....i thought that you had died!
Rose: i thought the same thing about you
me: i see, why attack the princess?

i had Rose's dagger in my hands and she scoffed then walked over to my table and started to pour whisky into two glasses then looked at me

Rose: you could never resist Albion Whisky reaver
me: answer the question rose
Rose: if i did do such a thing, it would have been to protect you my dear husband
me: i see, you do know we are no longer married, there is no record of me ever being married to you, they all burned up in our old home in Oakvale 
Rose: oh? what a shame, i guess we will have to get re-married
me: how did you survive Oakvale?
Rose: oh i had help just like you

my eyes widened, she used the shadow court? as i'm thinking i come to realize that this woman will try to kill Ilia again! i cannot have that happen! and this woman is crazy if she thinks that i would run back to her! i then smirk and come up with a plan.

me: of course my dear, anything for you my love
Rose: that's what i like to here and maybe after the wedding we might have luck in having a child?
me: that..................sounds wonderful
Rose: were should we have our wedding?
me: Bloodstone, i'm having my mansion re-built, we can live there
Rose: sounds better than this place
me: yes, more.............home-like i think, berry, bring our guest to a special room
berry: right away masta weava! this way ma'am 

i see her sigh then follow berry, i then smirk some, my plan is to sacrifice that woman to the shadow court, it is true that i had feelings for her but that was what 500 years ago? when i thought she was dead that hurt me but over time i got over her and started to forget her, then i met Sparrow and then met her two kids, Logan and Ilia, and honestly i never thought that i would ever find love again till i met the dear little princess, watching her grow up into a young, beautiful, woman and i will not let rose kill her! if i sacrifice Rose then i get her remaining life and who knows how long that is, and when Ilia becomes the queen of Albion then i will help her to be like me and she will be mine for ever! the next day me, berry and rose left early and it took about 5 days to get to Wraithmarsh and by god dose this woman ever shut up?! talking about how she was searching for me and how her life was horrible with out me and blah blah blah! she is giving me a damn headache!  once we got to the mansion in bloodstone i had berry bring in all our stuff, not a lot actually, the mansion was almost completely re-built, after berry got everything inside i turned and see Rose sitting on a table drinking blood-wine, her favorite  kind of wine, i then walk up to her and smoothly talk her into going to the shadow court with me, she said: "ya sure, i need to find out if i need to sacrifice more people or not", i walked with her out of the mansion, on the way to the shadow court, all i could hear is how she is planning our wedding and future blah blah blah! once inside we walked to the center and sees a circle in the middle of the room, i got behind rose and pushed her in! she fell and a barrier went around the circle, i see rose getting up and looked hurt.

rose: h......how could you?! i......i thought..........
me: sorry love but i cannot have you around my sweet princess
rose: TRAITOR!

i sighed and as i'm going to the lever i hear her begging for her life and before i could pull the lever i hear her say:"i'm the hero of will damn it! once i survive this i will make you love me again and i will kill that whore princess!", no i dont think you will, its a pity though, another hero now dead? if only she had told me sooner, oh well, i pulled the lever and i hear her scream as spikes shoot out crushing her, the blood was everywhere, now to go back home to my sweet princess, i will have her all to myself soon i hope.
