Luna

"HOW WAS EVERYONE'S day at school?" I asked cheerfully as we were eating dinner.

"It was boring, as always," Alexander replied as he picked at his vegetables. I chuckled at him and nodded, school can be so boring at times.

"I made a picture for Luna!" Bruce blurted out quickly, showing his teeth in a bright, wide smile.

I smiled as I looked at him, "no way! I'd love to see it after dinner!" I exclaimed. I can't believe he made me something. Ugh, I love this boy so much!!

"Okay!" He replied and went back to eating his food. I looked over to Carlton with a wide smile and squeezed his forearm a bit.

"What about one for your favourite sibling?" Carlton asks, pretending to be hurt.

"Yeah, I made it. I'm giving it to her after dinner. Did you not hear what we were saying, Carlton?" I couldn't help but laugh as Carlton gave a shock-filled gasp. I blew a kiss to Bruce with a giggle, then continued to eat my dinner.

We all continued to eat for a while until I felt a foot touch my shin, "something weird happened."

I looked at Alexandria with confusion and slightly nodded my head to encourage her to continue. "After school I saw a man dressed in all black with a hood over his head," my whole body froze entirely.

"Did he hurt you? Did he talk to you-"

"No, Ma, I'm okay. He just came up to me and told me to tell Luna that her father misses her and that he's waiting for her," she looked back at me with confusion shown all over her face. My eyes became very dry and I was forgetting to blink as I was now staring at the rest of my food on my plate. I ate a quarter of it and I was suddenly not hungry anymore.

"Why would he say that if your father passed away?" Alexander broke the silence with his soft voice. I blinked a few times before looking up at them, blinking a few times so I wouldn't let tears fall.

"That man must have been sick or something," I mumbled quietly before looking at Alexandria. "If you see him again, scream and run as fast as you can. Make sure you're with a group of friends because he is dangerous. I will make sure that you guys get to school safely, so I will drive you tomorrow morning."

"Luna," Carlton spoke. "You can't," he whispered to me.

"We'll talk later," I whispered back.

"Until we get this man, you have to stay at school for lunch as well. He is dangerous and I don't want him hurting any of you," Leah said as she lingered her eyes on me while looking at each of us individually. I nodded and we all finished our food in silence. After dinner was over, I helped Leah with the dishes and the sirens were heard soon after. We all went upstairs and started getting ready for bed, not wanting to be up any longer than absolutely necessary.

"Wait! I didn't give Luna her drawing!" I heard Bruce whine when Leah was about to put him into his and Alexander's room.

"It's okay, you can give it to me in the morning," I smiled and gave him a hug when he ran toward me. He gave me a small smile and nodded. We all said goodnight to each other and Carlton and I made our way into his room.

"You can't drop them off, you know that right? It's not safe. He can snag you up while you're out there, and then what-" Carlton started as soon as I closed his door.

"It'll be okay. The only thing that matters is that they are safe and away from him. Also, it wouldn't make a difference if I'm out there or here," I said the last part quietly as I made my way to my case of clothes.
