My second day of band camp was maybe a bit better than the first. At least I knew what the warm-ups were and wasn't standing there like the lost freshman I was. I met some new people and I felt like I was actually starting to fit in. The day passed by without any major incidents. Then came the evening activity.
So a little bit on what happens before it happens. Each year during band camp at my high school, people are divided into band families. You have your mom and dad (juniors or seniors) who are "married" and they usually have two kids. I asked to not be in a family with only guys. But, guess what...? The families are also grouped into Hogwarts houses. It's no real contest though. The system is rigged so Gryffindor always wins.
I was standing there with a group of clarinets while the names were being read off. "Please be in Ravenclaw!!" I silently prayed. And then I heard my name. I was placed in the only gay family and, just my luck, they were all guys. I silently got up from my seat and went over to stand with my family. Then I saw him. Pale blonde hair, super tall, and the most gorgeous blue eyes ever. I knew he was the one.
