"Bucky, wake up." You whisper to him while stroking his hair, he opens his eyes and slowly gets off of your lap. You take the towel off of his head to see the bleeding stopped. "Are you feeling any better." He nods.
"I can see properly now." He smiles and you tug on the blanket that was wrapped around you as a shiver runs through your spine. He places his hand on yours and you look down to see dry blood, you look to his chest that had a bloodied hand mark on it. You sigh and bring him into a hug, he hugs you tight before Wanda runs up to you.
"Y/N!" She says in relief, you let go of Bucky and get up to give her a hug. "How are you?"
"I'm fine, cold, but fine." You smile and she looks at Bucky with wide eyes.
"What happened to you?" She gasps and he makes his lips turn into a thin line as he closes his eyes.
"Hey, Wanda, do you know where Bruce is?" You ask and she nods.
"Yeh. Do you need him?" She asks and you nod your head towards Bucky.
"He does." She nods and you both get up.
"Follow me." Your wrap your arm underneath Bucky's to help him, you all walk inside to the warm air. Following Wanda you're taken into Bruce's lab. "Bruce." She says, a figure jumps in their seat and turns around.
"Y/N!" He says happily before getting up and walking over to you.
"Nice to see you too, but there's no time for a reunion, can you have a look at Bucky's head, please?" You say as you help Bucky into the tube that you went in before.
"Alright. Barnes, can you lay down for me and close your eyes? This won't take long." He says as he presses a button, the glass case slides over the top of Bucky and he shuts his eyes as the laser scans him. You close your eyes and take a deep breath as a wave of dizziness sprung over your head, you feel gravity pull you backwards and you open your eyes before taking a step back to catch yourself.
"Woah, Y/N. Are you ok?" Wanda says worriedly holding her hands out to you, you grab one of her hands with your right and hold your spare hand to your forehead.
"Yeh, I just feel really dizzy, that's all." You sigh and look at her.
"Sit down." She gestures you to a seat and you slowly sit down, you hold your head in your hands as the world spins. Bucky sits up when the glass slides back, he looks at you and stands up.
"Y/N? What happened?" He says worriedly.
"Just dizzy." You say, he clenches his jaw and Bruce walks over with a tablet in his hand as he reads something from it.
"Well, it wasn't a deep cut. Just a scratch really, it should heal soon enough. Continue to drink water and your headaches and dizziness should slowly go away." He smiles at Bucky and you look up.
"Can you check Y/N to see if she's ok?" You squint your eyes to see them better.
"Sure, you know what to do." Bruce smiles and you nod, Wanda helps you up and you lay down in the tube. Closing your eyes it was quickly over and you sat up hanging your feet off the edge.
"Am I ok?" You raise a brow and Bruce slowly rolls a screen in front of you as Bucky stands next to you and holds your hand.
"I'm afraid, not." He sighs and looks up at you.
"What's wrong?" Bucky asks and you swallow the lump that formed in your throat.
"Well, the first time you came to earth, your cells were working like a normal human beings cell. But then if you see." He swiped on the screen to show moving cells and atoms. "The last time we got a sample of your blood before HYDRA took you, your cells were working faster than the normal rate. From my calculations it could've been because the more you used your powers the more you'd heal faster, that would explain the reason why when you were shot in the chest it started to heal itself."
"What does this have to do with me now?" You ask in confusion.
"You don't have powers anymore so you're cells are slowing down and not regenerating. Which means you're dying slowly." He says silently but loud enough for you to hear. You don't say anything but your lips are parted slightly.
"Is there any way we can fix it?" Wanda asks and you look at your fingers tangled with Bucky's.
"I don't think so. Unless there was a way to get you your powers back. Your time is limited, I'm sorry." He frowns and your heart sinks, tears form in your eyes and your throat tightens.
"The only way I'd get my powers back is if we had the gems, but they're broken and back in Antarctica." You look up at Bucky and he looks down at your hand and squeezes it.
"No they're not." He says silently and you look at him confused.
"What do mean?" You ask, he lets go of your hand and reaches into his pocket and pulls something out. He opens his right hand to show the gem glowing slightly. "Bucky." You gasp, and he looks into your eyes. Redness shows itself and they glisten.
"I'm not loosing someone I love again." A tear falls down his cheek and you can't hold your tears back, you wrap your arms around him and pull him close to you.
"I love you." You whisper to him while you choke on tears, your emotions are mixed, fear, happiness and sadness were surging through you and you were unable to control them. You let go of him and take the gem from his hand, you close your hand around the stone and bring it to your chest. You can feel the energy through it and you bring it to your face to get a closer look. You get up and walk out of the doors towards your room, they all follow you and you open your door.
You walk to your bookshelf and grab the large book with the snakes, opening it you skip through pages until you see the one you're looking for. You rub your thumb around in circles over the surface of the gem, it glows and electricity surges through your body, the tip of your thumb burns and soon the surface of the stone stains red with your blood. You bite on your lip and continue to ignore the pain, the stone glows brighter and lights up the whole room. You take your finger off the gem and keep it in your palm, you look up towards your window to see your family standing there smiling at you, they walk towards you and you stand up. They place their hands on your shoulders and your body shivers with electricity throughout your system, your ancestors appear and do the same thing, your body glows white and a small breeze picks up. You glow brighter and an explosion of light and wind comes from you and knocks Bucky, Bruce and Wanda back slightly.
"Y/N?" Bucky asks as he walks closer to the ball of light slowly dimming. The light disappears and your body falls to the ground, Bucky runs towards you and holds you in his arms. He rests his hand on the back of your head and you slowly open your eyes, he lets out a sigh of relief with tears in his eyes.
"Why the tears?" You chuckle and smirk, he laughs and you place your hand on his chest, you look at where your hand was placed to feel something dry. It was your blood and you hesitantly took your hand away, you sat up onto your knees in front of Bucky and he looked at you confused then to his chest. You place your hands on him again and a white light emits from your palms onto his body, his clothes glow and you take your hands away. They stop glowing to show him wearing a grey short sleeve shirt with dark track suit pants. He looks up at you and smiles.
"It's different." He smirks and you look at your hands, you make a white glowing ball appear in both your hands and small blue flecks jump from them. You look up at him and smile, you both laugh and a tear falls from your eye.
"It certainly is." You smile happily and wrap your arms around him, he stands up and you follow with him. You remove your face from his neck and look him in the eyes. You place your lips on his and your hand moves up to the back of his head.
"Ow!" He whips his head back and you let go of him.
"Shoot, I'm so sorry." You hold your hands out to him and he giggles at you.
"It's ok." You smile innocently and walk closer to him. You place both your hands to his temples and look into his eyes, your fingers glow and he stares deeply into your E/C eyes. You remove your hands from his temples and he puts his hand to the back of his head. "You healed me?" He smiles at you and furrows his brows, you smirk and he presses his lips onto yours passionately. Wanda and Bruce look away and silently remove themselves from the room closing the door in the process.
You flick your fingers making your door lock and your blinds close. Bucky gently lays you on your bed and you flick your fingers again turning the lights off causing the room to turn pitch black.
