"Well pleasure to see you mam," the bellhop said as he lead the way to the elevators.
"I didn't know you work here Mr Green eyes," Dee said, smiling widely at the familiar face.
"Oh, please, you can call me Max."
"Oh, I'm Idun but I prefer you call me Dee."
Max turned and gave her a polite grin then walked into the elevator whose doors and just opened.
'Did I say something wrong? Or is there something on my face? Where is a mirror when you need one?' Dee questioned internally as she looked around at the wooden finish in the elevator.
The elevator doors opened, leading into a narrow hallway that stretched on into a darker area in the hotel. Dee and Max got off the elevator and he led the way into the hallway.
After about three doors, so widely spaced, they both stood in front of the fourth door. On the door were golden codes, hers specifically saying D25, with a little discoloration.
Max opened the door to the king size suite. He handed the small key to Dee and brought in her small bag, placing it next to one of the two sweaters, close to the door and facing the balcony. Max turned around and walked out the door.
After taking in the breathtaking view, Dee turned around to realize Max was still at the door, standing straight. His jaw clenched and his eyes, restless showing the urge to leave.
"I'm sorry," Dee said as she handed him a little bit of the money she had with her.
"Thank you mam," Max said.
"Call me Dee."
Max once again gave a polite grin and started to walk away. Dee had the urge to call him back. It was weird considering she had never thought to seek help from a bellhop. Other than that, she also questioned why she didn't want him to leave.
"Yes Miss Dee?" Max said in his gruff voice, stopping Dee's internal questioning.
"I need your help," Dee said realising he was the only one around when she fell into the fountain.

"So, there was a magical fountain where we first met?" Max asked as he sat on the arm chair while Dee approached from behind with two cups of coffee.
She handed him one and proceeded to sit across from him.
"I know it sounds crazy but honestly I think at this point, you're the only one who can tell me where that was," Dee said before sipping her cup of coffee.
"Well I can take you but there is issues with the hotel. I'm not supposed to be involve myself with guests unless it's about their luggage."
"I make horrible coffee," Dee said, scrunching her nose, not paying attention to Klaus.
Klaus looked down at his cup and chuckled.
"Well yes, you do. I swear I make better coffee," Max said as he got up and placed the cup on the kitchen counter top that connected with the living room.
"Tell me, will you help?" Dee said, moving up behind him while he placed his cup down.
He turned around suddenly, bumping into Dee, sending her stumbling backwards.
"Oh lord, I'm so sorry mam," Max apologized, his arms stretched forward in a futile attempt to make her stand still.
Dee gained her balance back and sighed. She had spilled a little bit of the coffee, slightly burning herself.
"I'm fine," she said, keeping her cup down.
"I will help you mam. As long as you have a place for me to stay. Once I quit working here, they'll take away my room and I don't think I know anyone in this town."
"Quit working?" Dee repeated.
"As I said, no involvement is allowed. But you have these irresistible puppy eyes that make my heart melt for you. So I will help you," Max said.
Dee felt her cheeks warm up and she could tell she was red from the blood rushing to her cheeks. She smiled widely. She was flustered at that comment and she assumed it was all just in her head. He probably didn't even pay attention to what he said since he was already straightening his bellhop uniform, ready to leave.
"Alright Dee, I'll see you in about an hour, hopefully with you having an idea about where I can stay," Max said stretching his hand out for a handshake.
Dee reluctantly placed her hand in his. Once she felt his warm and rough hands, she relaxed and tried to capture as much warmth as she could.
Max pulled his hand back, gave one more polite grin and left the room, leaving Dee to the company of only her thoughts.
Why did she feel so queasy at his touch? Maybe it was all just in her head. She had been exhausted from the flight. Max could crash on the couch until she found a long term solution. Right now, however, she need led all the sleep she could get.
She dragged her feet into the bedroom and closed the door. The mirror behind the door made her widen her eyes in utter disbelief.
Her reflection was worse than just a blue streak in her hair. Now her hair was half blue and half ash blonde. She was just a fur coat away from being Cruella de Vil.
She shrieked and collapsed into the bed, frustrated at everything that had gone wrong. If only she could still be at Mason's house, enjoying his delicious and moist chocolate fudge cake.

"You will never find her," Vella's voice rang through, echoing repeatedly.
Dee was in the park. The fountain clearly in sight. She started to run to it but her legs felt like they weighed a tonne. No matter how much she ran, the fountain seemed unreachable.
She stood still and saw the statue of the lady in the fountain move. The statues eyes lit up red as if there was a raging fire inside. She stretched her cement arm out to grab Dee while shouting.
"You made a mistake! Suffer your doing! You'll only get what you seek when you find what you lack! Be satisfied with what you have until you learn your lesson!" the statue screamed at Dee.
She grabbed her by the arm and threw her into the fountain. And dee kept falling, into the void. She was no longer able to see the light.
She jerked awake, sat up, panting and sweating enough to wet the sheets.
"It was a dream, a dream. Nothing but a scary dream," she mumbled to herself over and over.
The door opened and Max walked in, worried at the sight in front of him.
