We explained everything that had happened over the past week in great detail over hot bowls of onion soup. Everyone else sat in silence as we spoke, soaking in every detail.
"So, then we apparated here. We didn't know where to go. We know Sirius said to stay hidden, but we'd been seen.." I trailed off, hoping someone would say something.
"Well, yes.. It would have been wise to stay hidden but if Greyback knew you were there it was definitely better for you both to leave." Mr. Weasley chimed in, holding Mrs. Weasley's hand as she had been a bit frightened by certain parts of our story.
"We have reason to believe the Burrow's being watched, you see. We have loads of protective enchantments around it, but still.. death eaters always seem to find a way." Charlie spoke up, nodding his head towards the window to show where the enchantments were holding up.
"Has anyone heard from Sirius?" I finally asked, the question had been nagging at me ever since we got here.
Mr. and Mrs. Weasley exchanged nervous looks. Mr. Weasley was the one to finally answer me, "No, not since he left here five days ago. He left after we heard about the death eaters up at the school, you see.. He wanted to try and see Dumbledore and get details. I'm sure he's okay."
My anxiety increased tenfold. Why hadn't they heard from Sirius? I was feeling what I imagine George had been feeling all this past week. I now understood the pain he must have been living with, not knowing if his loved ones were okay.
George, sensing my distress, grabbed my hand underneath the table, rubbing circles in the back of it with his thumb. I gave his hand a squeeze, trying to push away bad thoughts that were creeping in about where Sirius was or what state he was in.
The table had grown silent, everyone seeming to think deeply about what they were going to say next.
"Why not send him an owl, Eliza?" Mr. Weasley offered with a wavering smile on his face. I nodded, trying, and probably failing, to throw a smile his way as well.
We ate in silence after that, George's hand still grasping mine under the table.
All of a sudden, as if I had apparated on the spot, I was no longer in the Burrow.
I was standing in the middle of a dark, long room, a large roaring fireplace at the end of it. A giant crystal chandelier hung above my head, and tall windows covered the wall, all concealed with dark curtains.
Turning around, I saw a body hunched over in front of a large set of double doors, not unlike the ones at the main entrance to Hogwarts.
The figure groaned as the door swung open, hitting him in his side. Bellatrix Lestrange waltzed in the room, wand twisting between her fingers.
A wave of understanding washed over me as I got a closer look at the long, tangled hair on the hunched figure.
"Sirius.." I gasped out, running towards him, "Get away from him!" I yelled into my mother's face.
Only thing is, no one seemed to hear me.
"Stop it!" I yelled once more as she rose her wand to point at him, lying on the ground, helpless.
"How about we try this again... CRUCIO! Where is Eliza?!"
"I'm not going to tell you anything, Bellatrix, torture me all you want but I won't give her up!" Sirius yelled out, his voice sounding exhausted and worn.
"Oh, I intend to do just that dear cousin!"
"No!" I yelled out, trying to pull her arm back but unable to grasp her, my hand grabbing thin air.
"Eliza!"
Next thing I felt was hands shaking me back to life. Opening my eyes, I found myself on the floor of the Burrow kitchen. I was being held by George, and a concerned looking Mrs. Weasley was holding my hands in front of me. The other three Weasley men were standing behind her, looking frightened and concerned.
"Eliza, what happ-"
"She's got Sirius."
Mr. Weasley's eyes flashed to his wife, who's eyes had grown wide in shock.
"She's- what? Who are you talking about dear?" Mrs. Weasley was trying to stay calm, which only made me more upset. We needed to move, to go help Sirius.
"Bellatrix! She has Sirius, I saw it!"
As if finally understanding what I had been saying, Mrs. Weasley turned to her husband.
"She was trained by You-Know-Who himself.." he trailed off, deep in thought.
"What? We have to go!" I was confused, why was no one doing anything?
"What's going on?" George finally spoke, eyes on his mother. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley clearly knew something the rest of us didn't.
"Bellatrix is an accomplished Legilimens. She's controlling your thoughts.." Mrs. Weasley spoke quietly, trying to avoid my eyes.
"Okay, fine! But we need to go and help Sirius, now!" I tried to stand, using George as support.
"No, Eliza, you can't. This could be a trap, Sirius could be just fine. He probably is safe somewhere far from her. She can warp what you're seeing to lure you in!" Mr. Weasley blocked the doorway.
"Wha- but what if she does have him? Are we supposed to just sit here and let him die?!" I yelled, anger radiating through my body
"Isn't there some way we can contact him?" Bill spoke up, turning to his father.
"Floo network is being watched. We could send something by post but it'd be morning before we heard back I'd think."
"We need to go! There is no time to wait until the morning!" I pulled myself away from George, only for him to grab my hand and pull me back to him.
"No, we need to be sure," he spoke up, sounding more sure of himself than before, "whether she's got Sirius or not, she's trying to lure you in nonetheless. She wouldn't do anything until she's got you there. If we don't hear from him by morning, we'll go."
Appalled, I turned to him, "How can we just allow him to get hurt? She's going to torture him! He is my family! I can't believe you.. any of you!" and with that, I stormed out of the kitchen and up to Ginny's room, shutting the door behind me and throwing myself onto her bed.
