My eyes flutter open. A smile comes across my face. The familiar feeling of Sammy's arm on my stomach makes me happy. We're super close friends. I wish we were more, but it doesn't always work like that. I look at the boy who's head is laying on the inner part of my right shoulder, almost on my chest. His arms were tight around the part of my stomach that stuck out from under my sweatshirt. It stuck out more than usual since I was laying with my arms behind my head. His legs intertwined with my bare ones. We were comfortable around each other. We wake up like this often. I move my left arm and place my hand on his cheek, fingers by his ear. I gently rub my thumb back and forth. "Sammy, wake up."
"Hmm?"
"Wake up."
"Nooooo..." he trailed off in a groggy voice.
"Why not?"
"Because I'm comfy," he whined, mimicking my past remark.
"Sammy, I have to pee and get ready for work."
"Why do you need to go?"
"So I can make money?"
"Ugh, i have moneyyyy..."
"Sammy.."
He tightened his grip and moved his head to the center of my chest. I sigh and place my right hand in his hair, twirling it around.
"Please y/n. Stay here?" His eyes opened wide and he stared at me, pleading.
"Sam... I have to work today.."
"Call in sick."
"Sammy, I can't."
"Whyyyyy?" I chuckled at his childlike response.
"Because, not everyone is an amazing rockstar that makes money doing something they love."
"Y/n/n.."
"Sam.." the room fell silent as we stared at each other, quietly pleading for the other to give up. He gave me a puppy dog face and I felt myself giving in. My brows slightly furrowed in a sad way. I didn't want to leave. I didn't have to. I hadn't missed work at all this year and had plenty of vacation and sick days saved up. I was afraid that if I stayed I would fall deeper in love with my Sammy boy.
"Give me a good reason to stay."
"Because I'm here!" I giggled at that.
"Mm not good enough." He made an offended noise and face at me.
"What are my cuddles not good enough?"
"No it's not that," I giggled.
"Well then," he said, still fake offended, "what would be a good reason?" I sat up and so did he, staring curiously into my eyes with a smirk plastered on his lips. I bite my lower lip and think for a second.
"Mmm I don't know Sam, I don't think there is one," I teased. We both giggle for a second and the silence returns. We stare at each other.
"Please stay here with me, just for today. I just want to hold you close and cuddle you all day." I smiled.
"Fine."
"Yay!" He threw himself onto me, straddling my lap and squeezing me tightly.
"Sammy.... can't........ breathe."
"Oh sorry! I'm just happy!" He got off my lap and stared impatiently at me.
"You dork," I chuckled leaning in to kiss his cheek. He smiled and pulled me back in, stopping centimeters from my face.
"Umm, can- Can I- uh. Can I kiss you?" He said rubbing the back of his neck, his forehead rested on mine.
"Uh.. Sure?" He connected our lips in an instant. It was a soft, caring kiss that lasted a few seconds. We pulled away slowly and looked at each other. His smile like that of a child's on Christmas. I smile back from the sight of him being such a cute little dork.
"I- uh, I've been wanting to do that for a long time," he said lightly.
"Me too." His face lit up.
"Really?"
"Yeah." He sprung himself onto me once again, leaving small kisses and pecks all over my face. I giggled at him. "Okay, okay, down boy, down." He giggled.
"Listed y/n/n, I really like you, I have for a while I just, didn't know how to tell you. But now, since, you know, I was wondering... Would you.."
"Yes!"
"I didn't finish my question," he pouted, "what if I was gonna ask if you would let me hit you with a car or something?" I let out a laugh again.
"You're such a dork," I say pulling him back in for another kiss. My alarm for work went off, ruining the moment. I roll my eyes smiling.
"Ok I need to pee, but when I'm done I'll come back and we can go back to bed."
"Yay!"
I walk to the bathroom, texting my boss that I wasn't coming in today. I had better plans.
