*KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK*
"Ugh!" Who the hell is knocking at /my/ door on a Monday morning- well, afternoon? I walk downstairs, tying my robe. "I'm almost there, one sec," I say as I finish pulling up my hair. "Hello?" I said as I opened the door. "Oh - Josh, what's up?"
"Not much, just home from tour and all, ya' know?"
"Yeah, how're the boys?"
"Pretty good, tour has us exhausted."
"I bet, hey why don't you come in? We can catch up. In fact, go get Jake and Sammy!"
"I would, but they're helping mom set up for dinner tonight," he said stepping in and removing his shoes.
"Oh," a hint of sadness was present in my voice.
"What's wrong y/n?"
"Oh, nothing." I hope that sounded legit.
"What do you have planned for today," he asks dragging a finger along the kitchen counter as he chooses a seat.
"Uh, nothing really. Probably binge some Netflix and sleep all day."
"No big plans?"
"Nope, I don't really have many friends in the area since y'all are always on tour," I say with a frown.
"Well, y/n, do you wanna come over for dinner tonight?"
"Oh! No, I don't want to intrude."
"C'mon please!"
"Nah - want some coffee?"
"No thanks, but you're coming over tonight. Be ready by five!"
"Wait, Josh!" But he was out the door already. Damn it.
* time skip *
I look myself over one more time to make sure I look presentable. Sure the Kiszka household is a second home to me, but I still don't like looking like a bum around them, especially when I go over for dinner.
*knock knock knock*
"Come in!"
"Hey y/n, you ready to go?"
"Almost, let me just grab my phone," I reply.
"You should bring some clothes and stuff."
"Why?"
"So you can spend the night, just like old times!"
"Josh I- I"
"Please n/n!! We haven't hung out in ages, I miss you," he whined. And with that I was packing my stuff to spend the night. There was simply no saying no to Joshua Kiszka.
"Okay, I'm all packed up, onward good chap!" We giggled as we left my house, locking the door behind us. He has been my next-door neighbor since I was 6. We have always been super close, closer than I was with any of his siblings. I have had on and off crushes on him for as long as I can remember. But I gave up on that when Greta got big. I was proud of him, all of them, but damn does it hurt. I miss seeing them all the time. They're like family. It's weird when they aren't here.
We make it to the house in less than a minute because it's so close. We walk in to his house and everyones attention snaps to us.
"Y/N!"
uh-oh
I get tackled by the jolly green giant himself, Sammy. He was always excited when i was around. It was endearing.
"Hey y/n," Jake said.
"Hey!"
"Ah y/n, you look beautiful as ever!"
"Awe, Karen, I could never compare to you!"
"Oh hush now. Thank you for coming over! Josh hasn't stopped talking about you since he got home."
I looked at Josh with a smirk. He looked down at his feet with a small smile plastered to his face.
"Why don't you two go catch up, I'll make Sammy and Jake help down here so you have some alone time," she said with a wink. We both blushed and I giggled.
Josh rushed me up to his room to avoid any other embarrassing remarks. He shut the door and we sat on his bed.
"So, what's tour life like?"
"Well it's, it's amazing and horrible at the same time. I love it, truly, but it gets so exhausting."
"I bet. I could never be on a tight bus with Sammy and Jake for that long." We both chuckled.
"You get used to it. I mean, after all we get to see the world, and get paid for it! It's beautiful and fun, but it's lonely in a way. You're away from your family and friends for so long..." he trailed off.
"Do you- Would you? I mean- uh, when we leave again, do you want to come with us!"
"What?"
"On tour. I thought maybe you could join us, I know how much you've always wanted to travel the world. It would be so fun y/n! And a whole lot less lonely. I'm sure the boys wouldn't mind, I just- I missed you so much," he says as he wrapped me in a hug.
"I've missed you too Joshy. And I don't know. I- sure."
"What?"
"Sure I'll go with you."
"REALLY?"
"YES!"
"YES!"
Absorbed in the moment, he grabbed my face on both sides and kissed me. I didn't react out of shock, and that made him pull away quick. He was all flustered.
"I- I'm sorry, I was just excited, I shouldn't have done tha-" I cut him off. I kissed him as if my life depended on it. When we pulled away we looked deep into each other's eyes.
"Y/n.. I have wanted to do that since we were 16."
"So have I."
"Do you maybe wanna go on a date sometime?"
"Sure, I'd love too!"
"Josh, y/n, dinner!"
We shared one more kiss before heading downstairs with interlocked hands. There were a few knowing glances and chuckles, but everyone had expected something to happen between us at some point. I smiled at the thought of us being together.
The table was beautifully decorated with many different foods, it was hard to get it all on one plate.
"This is delightful!"
"Thank you y/n! I'm glad you like it, and I'm glad you and Joshy have accepted the fact that you're madly in love," she winked again.
"Okay, Ma, that's enough," said Josh.
The rest of the night was filled with laughter and happiness. The boys were super excited about me going on tour with them. After dinner we sat outside around a fire, singing and dancing.
I cuddled into Josh, taking in his scent.
"I'm so glad you're home."
"So am I. Ready to go inside?"
I nodded. We said goodnight to everyone as we went up to his room. He shut the door and walked over to me, putting his hands on my hips.
"I like you a lot, y/n m/n l/n"
"I like you a lot too Joshua Michael Kiszka."
He smiled and pulled me into a kiss by my hips. He playfully pushed me back on the bed, landing on top of me. He looked deep into my eyes.
"You are absolutely breathtaking."
"Thank you. You are astonishingly handsome."
"Why thank you, young lady."
"Josh, I'm like a month older than you," I said laughing.
"Fine. Why thank you, old lady."
We laughed as we situated ourselves for bed. He held me close as he sang Flower Power to me. It has always been my favorite. As he got to the second verse I felt myself drifting off to sleep. I turned so my head rested against his chest and my arms wrapped around his torso.
"Goodnight dear"
"Goodnight."
He kissed me on the forehead and I was consumed by the void of sleep.oh my god has it been a minute. i'm so sorry to leave you guys hanging like that. I was having so many mental health issues. i haven't been keeping up with the boys as much lately. i still love them dearly, but since my mental health went crazy, i haven't gotten caught up. if one of you could tell me anything important since always there came out, i'd really appreciate it. I'm trying to be creative during this quarantine, so hopefully i'll update more once i'm up to speed again. thank you so much to everyone who has been patient with me. i love you guys so much ~ Liv
