The Importance of the Two Rakaats Sunnah of Fajr Salaah
2 SUNNAT-E-MUA’KADDAH OF FAJR SALAAH :
• It is extremely virtuous to pray the two rakaats Sunnah- e-Mua’kaddah ie. before the two Fard rakaats of Fajr Salaat
• Rasulullah Sallallaahu alayhi Wasallam would pray them lightly (meaning he would not lengthen them)
• It is Sunnah to recite Surah al-Kafiroon in the first rakaah and Surah al-Ikhlaas in the second rakaah of the Fajr Sunnah prayers

HADITH PERTAINING TO THE SUNNAH OF FAJR SALAAH :
Hazrat A’isha رضي الله عنها relates that the Rasulullaah Sallallaahu alyhi Wasallam said, “The two Rakaats of (the Sunnah of) Fajr are better than the world and all it contains.” [Muslim]

Hazrat Abu Hurayra رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasulullaah Sallallaahu alyhi Wasallam said, “Do not abandon the sunnah rakaats of Fajr, even if horses trample over you.” (Sunan Abu Dawud 1:186, Athar al-Sunan 1:224)
