Chapter Eight: A Date

       Yeah, just a date.

  

    I'm calling his phone up
   Just to tell him how much
   I really love him 'cos
   He's everything I want.....

My ringing phone woke me up, I picked the phone up to check who's calling, Shane!

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, I can't remember giving Shane my number or collecting his. Just what happened! Oh, yeah I hit my face realizing it.

He must have saved his number on my phone while sending me on those stupid errands last night. I snorted before picking.

"Be ready by 7:15am," he said immediately I picked up.

"A very good morning to you too Mr Festus," I said slightly annoyed.

No good morning, no greetings, he just told me to get ready.

"Remember 7:15," he hung up.

Can someone really be more annoying? I glanced at the clock, says 6:45am. I scrambled out of bed and rushed to the bathroom.

Thanks goodness mom ironed my uniform last night, I can't imagine ironing it this morning when it's obvious I'm late already.

      Tock tock tock

I heard a knock and I knew it's Shane. Taking one last look at the mirror, I rushed downstairs to find Shane talking to my mom, both smiling.

"It's no problem Aunt Dera," I heard him say.

    What's no problem?

So I just stared at the guy in a white shirt and pink trousers. His dress well ironed, his dark curly hair looks soft and his rich brown eyes, I don't want to start talking about them again. Those brown eyes makes my own light blue feel intimidated.

"Let's go, we would be late," He said and nodded to my mom before making for the door.

"Bye mom," I leaned to give my mom a kiss on her cheeks before following him out.

We got to his Black Porsche and he signaled for me to enter. I entered and he started the car. The drive to school was silent, I wanted to say something but I did not want to make a fool of myself again.

Finally, we got to school. He parked and got down without saying a word. I followed.

I couldn't miss the stares we got as we walked towards the school from the parking lot. Even Tania and Isabella were grinning and not just them, David and Nathaniel were with them, with smirks on their faces.

"Seems like some people finally got along," your guess is as good as mine, that was Nathaniel.

I blushed looking away.

Isabella tapped me, raising an eyebrow while Tania still had her grin on.

"We are neighbors, that's all." I tried sounding indifferent.

"Neighbors?" The four said in unison waiting for confirmation.

"Time for breakfast blonde hair," Shane said ignoring them and pulling me away.

I turned back and I thought I saw Nathaniel and Praise smile, a knowing smile.

    What do they know, that I don't.

"And what's with the breakfast thing? When did I tell you I'm hungry?" I stopped walking, folding my arms against my breasts.

Shane sighed. "You are full of trouble," he muttered, but I heard.
