TRIGGER WARNING: drinking and shit is mentioned in this chapter.
You don't have to read if that triggers you.

"I don't know, Shinoa. What do you think I should do?"

There he sat on the magenta-quilted bed that belonged to his dearest friend, the ebony hair threaded into his head drooping over his face that tilted toward the ground where he stared in apprehension. He'd just unloaded the burden of his drama with Mikaela to her and was now seeking advice from his wise friend.

Shinoa, the friend of this angsty teenage boy, was rubbing his shoulder to be comforting, a look of sympathy wiped across her pale-skinned face. Her lips pursed so lightly, she nudged him to look up at her, in which he did.

"I think you should follow your gut, Yuu. If you want to seek the profession of your fathers, then do it. If you want to be loyal to Mikaela, then be it. The ball is in your hands, you just gotta do what you feel is best."

"But... I'm not sure what's best," Yuu was frowning, fingers fiddling with the warm blanket he sat upon. His long lashes were flickering so frantically, eyes holding back from slipping anything out. "I just don't want to betray my dad again..."

Nearly Two Years Ago

A heavy bass boomed throughout a small building crowded of teenagers and even some young adults, recklessly dancing around in the flashing, neon lights that flickered so viciously.

Yuichiro was among this crowd, this not being the first time he was intoxicated and dizzy, led into the different universe of his mind. His vision blurred, he stumbled in the midst of a pit of people who stomped around, dancing widly. There, he lost complete control. Eyes widening and knees collasping, he fell to the ground, puking all that was in his system and creating such a foul scent.

"Yuu!" A familiar feminine voice called out his name, the presence of this individual rushing next to him and comforting him as all eyes concentrated at the embarassment he was. "Are you okay?"

He finished throwing up, face pale and vision hazy. The boy glared at the girl, recognising her as his friend, Shinoa, and frowning. Why did she have to see him like this? What a humiliation.

"Come on, lets go to the bathroom and clean you up." With that, she dragged him off away from the crowd that was filled with laughter and rude slurs and into a room made of cold, white title and smooth, grey walls.

"Poor thing," mumbled the girl, wiping the face of the taller boy with a wet cloth. "What were you thinking? Drinking? Guren is going to be so upset about this."

"... He doesn't have to know."

Putting her hand down and smirking, Shinoa said, "True, he doesn't, but what if someone told him?"

"Don't." He grumbled, yanking the cloth out of her hand and wiping his face himself. He stared into the mirror, seeing the gross reflection of his face. Eyes bagged and hair a mess, it was obvious he'd been partying. "Just because your sister is his fiancée, it doesn't give you the right to watch over me and tattle."

"Hm~? But, Yuu," she clung to his arm, giggling and looking at both of them in the mirror. "That is what I did when we were kids! Remember? You nicknamed me as Shinoa the Snitch! Hehe."

The male rolled his eyes, shrugging her off and setting the cloth down as his face was now clean. "And remember how you didn't want that nickname anymore? Don't complain about having it if that's what you're going to be; a snitch."
