HI LYLE. I FORGOT TO ADD THESE PARTS.
Lilith woke up from her dazed slumber, and looked around. Where was Matt? She looked down. There were many cuts scattered around her body, and there was bloody area on her stomach. She had been awkwardly bandaged in a way where it partially stopped the bleeding, but was still mostly open. She tried to move, but realized she was tied to a chair. Suddenly, the memories of her fight with the man in the suit came flooding back, overwhelming her senses. She hung her head in despair. How could she do this to any living being?
"So our little rebel awakens." says a familiar voice. She looked up. Dead, violet colored eyes met amused grey ones. "I underestimated you. We thought it would take weeks, even months for you to recover from the withdrawal. We designed that drug to immediately incapacitate anyone who stopped taking it. Maybe we need to develop a new one." he said. " I never introduced myself, did I? My name is Devon. Devon Alastor." "You already know me, I assume." Lilith said.
" Yes, I know you. And I want you to join me. You are a powerful step in the direction we want to go in. You are strong, smart, and you freed yourself of the drug. Even if we wanted too, we couldn't stop you. So we want you to be one of us. If others find out about you, they will slaughter you. We welcome you. We will care for you. Together, we can rule the world." Lilith looked at him, trying to see if there was any truth in his words. His eyes betrayed no emotion.
"Really?" she asked.
"Yes." He untied her, and then held out his hand. She moved her hand towards it, as if she was going to shake it. She barely touched his hand before abruptly swinging her hand to punch him in the face. He stumbled over, clearly not expecting the attack. She followed up the punch with a swift kick in the groin, and ran for the door. She turned around.
"Sorry, I don't work for evil people." she said. Then she escaped out of the room.
Lilith wandered the halls of Devon's laboratory, trying to find Matt. The lab was horror movie-esque, with pristine white walls and floors and a dimly lit hallways. She faintly heard screams in the distance. This appeared to be a containment facility for those who opposed the Devon or discovered the drug. She had seen a scientist carry a covered corpse around, and then dump it in the incinerator. Just how many people have died here? Did the scientists have no compassion? She sighed, and continued down the hall. As she went further down, she noticed that the floors transitioned from immaculate marble, to chipping painted floors. She was met with a wall."A dead end?" she said. Then she saw a speck of black on the floor. Something was covered by the paint! She scraped the paint off. A manhole? Why was this here? Did they keep something in there? She opened in and climbed down the ladder leading into the stinking filth of the sewers. She wandered into the disgusting place, and started calling for Matt. If she knew him, he would know that this would be the best place to escape to.
Matt, grubby and covered with sewer slime saw a speck of light in the distance. At first he thought he was imagining it. Then it got larger, and started yelling his name, so naturally, he yelled back. He obviously did not realize that whoever it was could not see him, so inevitably, he crashed head first into... Lilith? ¨What, you escaped!, Matt said astonished.
"Well don't sound so disappointed," Lilith said. Then Matt realized how ridiculously dirty he was, and at the various blood stains on Lilith's clothes. He could barely keep himself awake, and he sat on the floor and passed out, exhausted from the exertion.
He woke up yet again, in an unfamiliar and dark place, this time greeted with the stench of... err, unspeakable waste products. He saw, two feet away from him, his best friend. She was in a deep deep sleep (emphasis on the deep). Then he heard a sound. This was not greeted with a smile, on the contrary, it banned any and all traces of happiness from his face.
"Do you think the male specimen has found the exit?", said a female voice. She was obviously nervous. She was answered with an angry,"Shut up, you twit.", this voice was gruff and had betrayed it's usually suave personality. Then there was footsteps with varying speed and force headed in (Matt honed his ears), there direction. He jolted his sleeping friend awake.
" What is it?" Lilith said, alarmed. She stood up. "We should keep moving Matt. They aren't that far behind."
"You're lucky I let you get your beauty sleep!", "Let's split up!"
"Hey, you passed out first. But good idea, they might get confused to hear two sounds going in seperate directions." She started down on section of the sewers, keeping an eye out for any signs of an escape route.
She heard a distant scream, and then angry footsteps heading in her direction. Devon! she thought worriedly. Why did he have to choose THIS tunnel! She sped up, feeling his chilling aura from meters away. He was quickly approaching.
"Lilith dear, come out." he said, trying to cover his anger with false desperation. "Please. I need you to join us." He stuck his head around the corner. She stuck against the wall, breathing heavily. She looked around for something to attack him with, but she had no luck. She would have to try to best him in hand to hand combat! She waited until he was a little closer, then jumped on him, trying to hit him before he even had a chance to defend himself. To her dismay, he had seen her prior to her attack, and flung her against the stonewall of the sewer. She sprung back into action, throwing punches and kicks, before he produced a sharp, gleaming dagger.
"So that's how it's going to be." With movements faster than what should be humanly possible, she snatched the knife out of his hands. He laughed.
"It's such a shame I have to kill you now. We would have made great teammates. It's been fun fighting you, and I wanted to give you a chance with the knife." he said, smiling darkly.
"What are you talking about? I disarmed you."
"Or did you?" He pulled a gun out of his pocket, and before Lilith had time to react, there was a bullet lodged in her shoulder. "This is where the fun truly begins."
