The Hunt:

It was the Friday before the last day of camp. The counselor set up this weird hunt/war thing between to cabins to put our new found skills to the test as well as all the team building and anger management stuff we did too. All the cabins had set uniforms. It was pretty simple really. We hand to wear the transift, black pants of our choose along with a utility jacket in our cabin color. Our's was military green. Thank the lord since Crabclaws was hell bent on yellow. Who wears yellow in the middle of the forest when your trying to hide from an enemy. Can you say dumb. We had packed everything else up, knowing we would be to exhausted to once we got back.

It was kinda creepy though when we told her that it was going to be army green. It was like we had ruined something she had planned.

Vanessa, Mackenzie, Taylor, Amber, Jackie, and I all sat by the door in the outfits lacing up our combat boots. Once we were done done we all walked into the living room and sat around the couch. You could tell none us knew what to expect and that none of wanted to do any real harm. But we had no choice at this point. We had learned to fight with weapons and defend against them as well, along with hand to hand combat.

"It's almost 6:00. We should head over to our centers and grab the rest of the gear." Jackie murmured as she leaned back forward into her hands placing her elbows on her knees.

"Yeah I guess we should." Amber remarked.

"Let's do this guys." Taylor said getting up.

"We've got this." Mackenzie added standing up next to her sister.

We all stood up. "To war we go" I said zipping my jacket up. It was oddly cold today.

"And a hunt we shall win!"  Vanessa added as we trooped out the door and over to the center to get our gear.

By the time we were all suited up and standing in the middle of the field most the other cabin groups had made it. Weird thing was almost all of them... scratch that, all of them but ours were in brighter colors. I know this was a game of skill, but for real. There were a total of nine cabins other than ours and the colors were: blue (not navy, but just like an obvious blue), beige, purple, maroon, mustard, light brown, grey, a grass green, and my favorite our resident bimbo Emma's team was wearing pink. Paint a flag that says find me on your back why don't you.

We all stood in groups waiting for the signal to go. The counselor came out and surprise surprise... Crabclaws, sorry Mrs. Crascaw came to front and blew an annoyingly high pitches whistle at us. Taking that as the signal we all ran to our planned locations. The game was officially under way.

Seeing as Vanessa, Taylor and I trained together and Amber, Jackie and Mackenzie did their together we decided to keep one from each on watch while we figured out our next plan. That way even if signals got messed up it would still make some sense.
After some discussion we decided to make camp in the trees last weekend so we climbed up to the middle of the thickest tree so there was no visibility of our location and tied up the brown and green hammocks we had requested in or packs. Once set we sat around and waited for the directive of the hunt to come to my phone. Sure it came to all our phones but why shine six bright lights saying come get me. One was enough.
