Sinclair's P.O.V.
I hate to admit but I am totally wrong about Legacy Granger and his ability to work with my little brother. Carter has come out of his shell some in just two sessions with Legacy; just two damn hours with the horse and him and Carter is slowly coming from his shell and I've been treating Legacy like he is a fucking moron. Well, I perhaps that I am that moron not him; Legacy is starting to do what we haven't been able to do with Carter in the last couple of years that he has been living with us.
I know I need to change my attitude and tone toward him but I don't know how and I hate admitting that I was wrong. So, I will just have to work on how I act toward and around him, especially when he's helping my brother to become happier and well adjusted to life. He has another therapy appointment today with Legacy that dad and papa want to take him themselves so, I'm going to find something to do with myself while they are gone. Papa said they're taking him themselves becasue of my attitude toward Legacy; the only reason I've gone with his two other appointments is Carter wants me to go with.
"Sinclair, are you coming with today?" Carter asks as we have an early lunch before his appointment.
Shaking my head as I swallow my bite. "Sorry buddy not today, I'm going to stay home today." Carter's smile instantly fades as tears form in his eyes; yup definitly need to change my attitude toward Legacy if my not going with today makes him teary and sad.
"How come?" he asks in a small voice, his shoulders sagging and a single tear falls down his cheek.
Instant guilt and shame washes over me hard at the sight of him. "Car, it's okay that Sinclair stays home today while you're with Legacy," dad breaks in before I can figure out how to answer my little brother.
Carter nods as he pokes his food around his plate with his fork with a pout on his lips. "FInish your food bud, so we can we can leave for your time with Legacy," papa tells him gently. Carter nods and finishing his food quickly so he can go and I'm thankful he likes Legacy as much as he does.
When Carter finishes eating, he helps papa clean the table as I load the dishwasher and start it when it's fully loaded. Telling the three of them goodbye and hugs before they leave; I know I can be a prick and an ass but I do love my family and show them affection.
While they are gone, I'm going to figure out how to apologize to Legacy when I see him next. The one thought that strikes me as odd is that he is probably in my grade but I haven't seen him around the school. I've seen a younger guy that resembles him greatly though, so I wonder if he has a younger brother. Falling back onto my bed with a groan in frusteration at my behavior towards a guy who did nothing wrong to me but yet I was an ass.
'Focus, Sin, focus,' I chant to myself as I stare at my ceiling. 'Start of by apologizing and then work on becoming friends with Legacy.'
Legacy's P.O.V.
Carter just arrived for his afternoon appointment with his dad's bringing him without the annoying, devastatingly handsome asshole Sinclair. The first three letters of his name is correct, in more ways than one that man is a SIN. Turning my attention away from my own personal sin of a man, to his more adorable and likeable little brother, I smile at Carter as he and his dad's walk up to me by the barn where I have Midnight and Salem ready and waiting outside.
"Hey Carter, how are you today?" I ask squatting down in front of the bubbly 7 year old boy.
Nodding quickly at me Carter surprises me when he launches himself at me, wrapping his arms around my neck in a tight hug. Chuckling softly I wrap my arms around his little waist and gently squeeze with a huge smile on my lips. When it becomes clear that Carter isn't going to let go any time soon, I slowly stand with him in my arms. Gazing at his parents I find them staring at us with their mouths hanging open slightly and eyes rounded in surprise; Hell, I'm right there with them.
