Call to Action

AN just wanted to say a big WOW and thank you to everyone taking the time to read this. As you might know I write this when I'm travelling so sorry if my updates aren't regular but I love this story so I'm not letting it go. Enjoy!!!

Itachi and his team had arrived in the eerie village sooner than expected. His team walked around behind him, not going far but quietly taking it all in. There were few houses, everything seemed abandoned and for a moment Itachi wondered if the information they were given was wrong.

It didn't take long for his nose to catch a smell drift by. The unmistakable smell of blood and an unfamiliar pack approaching.

He and his team quickly transformed, they hadn't had to up until this point but somehow this situation seemed like it would be called for. He felt his team take a proper formation with himself at the front.

For behind one burnt building a redhead emerged.

Pein.

"Hm what's this then? Leaf ANBU?" Pein's voice was cold, deep and amused. He walked slowly and casually closer until Itachi growled and he stopped. Two people were behind him and he recognised Hidan, a strange man who looked wildly at his team. He seemed like he wanted to laugh and shout but resisted due to Pein's presence.

The other was Konan, she was just as rarely seen as Pein and rumoured to be his mate. Itachi couldn't see it, couldn't see how someone as cruel as Pein could have a mate.

Pein paced slowly as his strange purple eyes danced over his team. "Let's just do this, shall we?" As he said the words around one hundred people emerged from the trees, the buildings, even the floor beneath them.

Then like lightening Konan was in the air flying, Pein had transformed and Hidan laughed manically.

"Naruto...Naruto what is it?" Lee asked, he grabbed the blonds shoulder and shook him.

Naruto couldn't focused, he thought he had felt the evil presence of Pein but instead....it was Kimimaro.

"But...no, Ki-" before he could gather his thoughts Kimimaro was coming at him. He was frozen and if not for Lee using his sword to block Kimimaro's attack he would've been sliced in half.

He was amazed to see Kimimaro alive and seemingly well but the horror that shocked his system laid in where Pein was. Where he was hiding...if he had encountered ANBU and Itachi. His blood ran cold and even though he had what he had been searching for for years in front of him, he couldn't not think about running to Itachi's side.

"Naruto!" Lee's shout was desperate, Naruto watched as he quickly became overwhelmed by Kimimaro. Their fight moved quickly all over the area and Naruto snapped when he heard Lee cry in pain. His shoulder was bleeding and he was on one knee.

Without changing Naruto raced over, knocking Kimimaro harshly in the face he stumbled back not expected the lightening quick attack. "Kimimaro it's me." His voice was cloaked with on coming tears and a thick knot in his throat.

The only response he got was a growl and the white haired man charging at him.

Anger took over Naruto seeing his friend turned into a monster. Did he recognise him? Did he know his own name? Feeling the fire of his change Naruto transformed into his Fox form, three tails waved wildly behind him signalling his upset.

Kimimaro observed, eyes flicking over his form. Naruto knew he would have to best him in a fight and take him back with him. This was no quick fix. Lee was still watching in pain while trying to heal his injured shoulder.

Naruto dove at Kimimaro but it was easily avoided. They tried to attack each other time and time again but each time it was narrowly avoided. The fight was coming down to who had the most stamina until Lee would rejoin.

All the while he fought off fears of where Itachi was. His mind occasionally bringing up vivid images of the beautiful man laying dead blood gushing from his mouth.

With the last image catching his attention he received a sharp slice across his cheek. Barely avoiding his head being cut clean off. Not willing to play around any longer his need to protect brought out the monster Lee had seen earlier when he fought Sugetsu.

With a loud cry heard throughout the forest Naruto charged at Kimimaro.

Heads snapped around hearing the thunderous roar. Pein growled, facing the direction and knowing the source of the cry was his precious fox that had gotten away from him once already. He turned back to his opponents but they had no idea what the loud roar was and continued fighting.

He watched as the leader kept his red eyes on him. He was a fierce one who had easily taken out many of his men, but they were weak and simply pawns to wear him down.

After hearing that he knew he had no time before his pets would be gone again. With an evil smile that told all at the wolf in front of him he disappeared in a flash of smoke. Hidan was in pieces, laughing maniacally and somehow still alive. Konan was gone just as quickly as Pein.

Itachi quickly changed into his human form to communicate with his team. "Everybody now, after me!" He commanded and began to run towards the source of the loud cry they had all heard. Everybody began running after him, Pein's men still hot on their tails but they had prepared for this. Releasing explosives and tags stuck on the enemy they managed to lose most of them.

As Gaara and his team were struggling to decide where Naruto would be he heard it. His best friend, his brother, angry as hell. He could only imagine what he was facing to let out something that told of so much power and pain. Not giving a damn if his team followed he chased after the sound.
