I parked my car and got in the club. Brian was already there and left early, to prepare everything for the gig.
As soon as I walked in someone's arms flew around my neck. It was my best friend Mary. "Stace! You're finally here! Oh my, you look amazing! The blouse! I told you it would look great on you!" she squealed excitedly. I grinned and spun around "Of course, honestly you give the best advice when it comes to clothes. But- Look at you! You're shining! I love the skirt!" I replied. Mary wore a burnt orange skirt and a white vest top. Golden bangles were hanging from her ears. She's pretty much the most fashionable person I'll ever know.
She jokingly striked a few poses and we walked over to the bar and we ordered two gin and tonic's. "So, how's the hangover eh?" she joked, sipping her drink. I shook my head "I was absolutely shitfaced wasn't I?"
She laughed and nodded. We burst Into laughter. Then we saw a guy running on stage with a mic in his hand. He was um, rather daringly dressed I'd say. He was only wearing a leather jacket, some bright yellow trousers and a white silk scarf tightly wrapped around his neck. Brian wasn't joking when he said this club was rather "flamboyant"
Mary gave me a weird look. "Are you sure we didn't accidentally walked in a gay club?" I asked her jokingly. She scoffed "Who knows?"
We laughed.
The young man tapped the mic and showed the crowd a big toothy smile and then cleared his throat. "Laaaaadies and gentlemen may we present to youuu,
SMILE!"
We all clapped as we saw each member of the band run on stage. Brian looked at me, holding his guitar and subtly winked. I smiled and gave him a thumbs up. Mary elbowed me and pointed at Roger. "What an absolute stunner" I sighed.
"I know right!?"
Then the band performed about 4 songs and the crowd went mad.
The only thing we noticed was that the lead singer, Tim didn't show any enthusiasm whatsoever. It was kind of weird, I mean the singing was great, he just looked... Bored, even.
It was weird. We continued dancing under the multicolored strobe lights and had countless drinks.
