One week later, audition day bass-player.
Brian wanted me to join himself and Rog for the auditions, regarding the bass player of their new band. We sat there for hours and hours, listening to boring bass lines. We were slowly getting nervous. Suddenly the last person to audition walked in the room. Chestnut brown hair, Grey eyes. Suddenly I remembered everything. John Deacon. I nervously looked every direction but where he stood. But I felt a pair of eyes staring at me. I cleared my throat and looked at him for a split second while the young man just continued to stare at me in awe. I felt my cheeks flush. Roger gave me a confused look. "What in the world is going on between you two?" Brian asked, raising an eyebrow. John shook his head, coming back to reality "U-uh... N-nothing, I swear" I nodded in agreement. Roger rolled his sky blue eyes at us. "Well that's convincing... Just tell us a little about yourself and play already" he added, followed by a huge sigh. John scratched his nose nervously and studdered "Um, yeah... I'm John Deacon. And uh- I study e- electronics"
We all nodded and Brian introduced us. "Nice to meet you John, I'm Brian, this fella here's Roger, and this is my sister Stacy, she obviously isn't in the band but we needed another set of brains to help us out, you know what I'm saying? Anyway, go for it, we're all ears"John's POV:
"Nice to meet you, John. I'm Brian, this fella here's Roger, and this is my sister Stacy, she obviously isn't in the band but we needed another set of brains to help us out, you know what I'm saying?" I heard Brian say. This is my sister Stacy. Those words echoed through my head. So she doesn't have a boyfriend. Well, not really... At least he isn't called Brian.Back to Stacy's POV:
The stage lights went off and the spot shined on the young man with his bass as he started playing an intricate bass-line. "Well that was to the point" Brian whispered In my ear. I ignored him, only keeping my eyes on John Deacon.I had shivers down my spine during the whole thing. I felt the bass resound in my body. He continued to play and play and play. But it wasn't boring for a single minute. Once he was done the lights turned on again. He awkwardly rubbed his hands together and gave us a faint smile.
I glanced at him and gave him a subtle thumbs up underneath the table meaning "you killed it"
He gave me a toothy grin. "Mate... That was... Smashing" Roger exclaimed. He shrugged. "Our next gig is next week, Friday. Make sure your on time it starts at 9" Brian added. He had stars in his eyes and his face lit up. "Thanks, I'll be there" he was no longer stuttering and I could see he instantly felt more confident. He looked so cute. Once more he looked over at me, and shyly gave me the tiniest smirk you could possibly give.
