She dipped her hand in my languid pools;
Whilst looking at her reflection.
I lulled her with flows
and gentle currents;
soothed her with ripples and made water music,
but Hera came back to herself as I kissed her.
Bitter is the wrath of Gods.
Eternally damned to stygian gloom:
punished by Zeus,
my home is my prison.
I am tied to my river.
Tied irrevocably to its nature and form
Zeus diverted my river,
thus changing my appearance.
Charon is my name,
water nymph of the River Styx
and Guardian of the Underworld.
You will pay for your passage…
