LucyI held the candlelight in my hand, creeping to the basement. I hope I don't wake up daddy. I felt the floorboards creak under my feet. I quietly went downstairs to the dark room. Even though the atmosphere sent shivers down my spine, the feeling of isolation sometimes could enlighten a person. Or is it just me? Isolation has been an emotion I've felt since a little girl.
My father, my mother, and I, used to be a happy family. Around times like this would be the happiest. Thanksgiving was just around the corner. My mother, Layla, was pregnant with my soon to be sister, Michelle. My father was the happiest man on earth, and I, the happiest girl. Me and my cousins, Sorano and Yukino, would eat all the apple pie Nana Rose made for us.
On October 27th, today, my little sister, Michelle, was going to be born. Yes, she was going to be born. Midway through my mother giving birth, she passed away along with Michelle. We were devastated. From that day on, my father was cold. He couldn't look me in the eye anymore. He told me I looked too much like the love of his life. That didn't hurt me right now. What hurt is that he didn't even bother to do anything for Michelle's birthday or in memory of mom.
Last year, he did a measly cupcake, but that's more than nothing. The first 3 years after moms death, we had a gathering at the mansion in honor of mom and little sis. Now, he rarely even remembers.
The cool breeze from the basement hit against my skin, reminding me, at least I could still feel air. Imagine not being able to feel emotion. But imagine not being able to feel simple things as grass and air.
Then it hit me. The only thing that could make me feel, were my friends. My family. And seeing his smile. As if on cue, my phone rang. "Hello?" I quickly answered it, not trying to wake daddy. "Natsu?" I said. "Don't you know it's 5 in the morning?" I whispered. "O-okay," I answered before he hung up.
Fiore Park?
I stood up and didn't bother to change from my white night gown, which is one of the many daddy bought me.
Despite the fact that it's 5 in the morning, if there's anything I wouldn't mind seeing, it'd be that god forsaken smile of his. I blushed just thinking about it. I stood up on a black stool, climbing out the basement window. Barefoot, my skip, in Lady Virgos corn maze, broke into a sprint.
Once I reached the park that glistened due to the starry night, I spotted the salmon haired boy, that is Natsu. "Luce!" He waved. I ran to him. I didn't know he could, but he did.
He spotted the lost look in my eye. "You alright?" He asked, taking my hands into his.
A heat rushed to my pale cheeks. "I-I'm fi-" he interrupted me, in the best way possible. A kiss for him to remember and me to cherish. He pulled away, "don't lie to me Lucy," he said to me.
I felt my lips tug into a smile. That boyish grin of his formed.
I've fallen in love with this boy and I can't get up.
