Chapter 14- Forbidden

November 4th, 2018

Only 2 weeks before the Fall Ball. Things have changed while Erza's been gone. Ultear could be seen hanging out with Jellal, Meredy, Sorano, Erik, and Macbeth. Although Sorano was still iffy about it, Meredy was happy her Freshman friend returned to them.

On this marvelous Sunday, Sting could be seen contemplating whether or not he should tell his elder brother about his forbidden memory, or keep it a secret.

Jellal sat at his desk in his room. Messaging Ul over his computer. It was any other Sunday to him. That time he saw Ul on the staircase crying, would be the time he felt true happiness and sympathy. He felt happy that it wasn't his forbidden memory crying there, saying what it had said before. He felt sympathy because she was his Freshman friend sitting there instead.

Over that time, the two have grown closer. He fell in lo- well, it isn't love really. An infatuation grew for her. In the poem his forbidden memory once created, it pointed out there was a difference between love and infatuation.

The poem said:

"What is infatuation? Obsession, addictive love, or lust- infatuation can knock you off your feet in much the same way as falling in love. However, feelings are often distorted by lack of perception, illogical thoughts and a focus on yourself rather than the feelings of the person who is the object of your affection."

Therefore, it was not her who he was in love with, but it was the taste of the forbidden memory. That same day, he never expected the forbidden memory to be in arms reach.

The beat and the rhythm he listened to was all too familiar. This Sunday brought back a feeling of nostalgia. Deja Vu. The only different thing was the weather. Orange leaves fell from the trees, falling to the ground. He hadn't spoken to Ul anymore this day. The way he watched his mother slave away in the kitchen, working up a sweat. His brothers tidying up. His father on his way early from work. It was only dawn, why was everyone so busy? Eager?

He frowned at the fear of not knowing.

A sudden ache hit him in the stomach. He watched the wind swish like it did the night he couldn't sleep and ran into his memory, who was not so forbidden anymore. She had been brought back into conversation often, lately.

To take his mind off of things, he pulled out his phone, and went on Instagram. He hadn't been on Instagram in about a month since Ultear was going on a Social Media Strike, he wanted to support her as much as he could. All down his feed were those memories that made him fall in love with Ultear. She was the closest to his forbidden memory.

And that forbidden memory, was Erza.

All down his feed were posts that Erza made on the trip. There was a picture of her, Lucy, and Mira going bungee jumping. Lucy looked absolutely afraid, Mira was obviously giggling, and Erza was smiling dangerously. A sad smile crossed Jellal's face. One part of him was happy that Erza was having fun, the other wished he could be there with her.

Then there was a picture of Levy and Erza snorkeling. Both of them made silly faces. Jellal chuckled at Erza's childishness that never strayed. The caption of the post read 'Everything's better, down where it's wetter, under the sea,' he knew she always liked that movie. Then there was a picture of Erza sitting in a green chair, holding a sparkler in one hand and a wine bottle in the other. She had on a gold, skin tight dress. She was obviously drunk. He could tell from the spark in her amber brown eyes.

But on the side of her, was a tan skinned boy with blonde, yellowish hair. On the other side of her was Lucy and Mira, Levy could be seen in the background with a worried face. The caption read 'Sparklers and Cabernet! The best way to spend your school trip,' with a winking emoji beside it. Jellal felt a jab in the kidney from staring at the boy. He's never been..y'know..jealous before. The next picture was of Mira and Laxus kissing, Juvia and Gray kissing, Natsu and Lucy kissing above Erza's head, and in the middle, was Erza making a kissy face towards the screen.

'Love is in the air! I miss you @ King_Jellal'

The caption immediately tugged a smug grin on his lips. She tagged him. Saying that she missed him. He double tapped the picture, commenting 'Miss you 2 princess,' after doing so, he smiled proudly. And as if on cue, the doorbell rang. "Rich, get the door, she's here!" He heard his mother called. Who was here?

Suddenly, every light in the house went dark. He heard pitter patter footsteps dash through the hall, most likely to be his little brothers.

He followed after them, stopping behind a pole in the hallway.

"Surprise!" He heard everyone downstairs scream in pure excitement.

"All this for me?!" The voice asked. A voice he knew, no matter how hard he'll try, he won't forget.

"Stingy! Rogue! Violet-San! Richie!"
