9. Catching Feelings

Carmen's pov

"Oh well I never really knew my father either" I say

"Well why not?" He asks me

"He walked out on me and my mum when I was only a month old." I say looking ahead of me.

"Oh I'm so-" I cut him off

"It's okay besides I got told that he used to beat my mum" I say as he looked down at me.

"Well um here we are" Bradley says as we enter the beach.

"Really? We're at the beach?" I ask him

"Yeah I thought you'd like it. You know since I'm always giving you shit so I figured why not." He says giving me his famous smile that he's known for. I returned it.

"I'll race you" he says and takes off running.

"Hey no fair!" I yell while taking off. I got halfway down the beach when I stopped to catch my breath.

"Hey guess what?" He says as he picks me up

"What?" I ask

"This" before I could say anything I'm being thrown into the water. I stood up soaking wet and shivering.

"Awe I'm sorry" he says giggling

Awe he's so cute when he giggles. Woah what? I can't say that about him can I? Of course not he's my bully.

Bradley's pov

Carmen just walked out the water soaking wet and shivering.

"Awe I'm sorry" I say as I giggle just a little bit. She just looked at me. When I looked at her I saw pure happiness written all over her face. I've never taken a good look at Carmen. When I look at her this time I find her very beautiful. She looks so much like her mother. She's a very beautiful girl I just can't picture someone not wanting to be with her.

"Hey you okay?" I hear her pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah I'm fine" I say to her as I grabbed a towel for her. After school I came down here and set up a little picnic. No it's not a date I promise. I just figured I owed her this.

"Thank you"she says

"Your welcome c'mon I got another surprise for you" I cover her eyes with my hands and lead her towards the picnic.

"Alright look" I say as I remove my hands

Her mouth fell open and I already assumed that this has never been done for her. Carmen looked at me and smiled. Oh my god when she smiles, I had never realized that whenever she does my chest tightens.

Wait. Am I "catching feelings?" That is impossible. I can't catch feelings for her. It just isn't right.

Carmen and I would never work out. Why? Cause I'm her bully and she's my victim. It could never happen. I could hear my conscious telling me that I'll never know unless I try. I can't I just, just can't.

I looked over at her and saw that she was taking a bite out of a strawberry. Oh what I wouldn't give to be that strawberry. What the hell. Bradley get it together she's just a girl. Yeah a girl your starting to catch feeelings for. She goes home in two months.

I went and sat next to her. She reached into the little bowl and handed me a strawberry. I took it and stuck it in my mouth.

Carmen's pov

Bradley just took a strawberry from me and stuck it in his mouth. Oh what I wouldn't give to be that strawberry. Woah hold up a minute. Carmen what are you saying? He is your bully. You can't be catching feelings. It's just wrong. Besides it would never work. We're complete opposites. Like they say opposites attract. Oh whatever it just would not work.

No matter how cute he is. Even every time I see him. I notice that when he smirks it shows off that dimple that he has. Oh lord when he smiles. Whenever he smiles he just brightens up the entire room.

"So Carmen" I hear him say pulling me out of my thoughts

"Yeah?" I say

"Are you having a good time?" He asks me

"Yes I am are you?" I ask him

"Yeah I am" he says smiling at me. I hate to say it, but I'm catching feelings for him and I can't help it. I know that these feelings will go away fairly quickly.

"Hey you alright?" I hear him ask me

"Yeah I'm fine. So what do you wanna do now?" I say

"It doesn't matter to me. I mean this is all for you so it's whatever you want to do Carmen" he tells me

"Alright well you wouldn't mind going for a swim would you?" I ask him

"No I don't mind" as he said that he took his shoes and socks off along with his shirt. My eyes about popped out of my head when I looked at him. When my eyes met his he was smirking down at me.

I stood up and slipped my shoes and socks off. Our clothes had pretty much gotten dry up to this point. I slipped my shirt off with my pants and he did the same with his. We took off to the water and I beat him to it.

"Hey!" He says as I splashed him

"I giggled as he did it back. Then we met in the middle and he just looked at me. I knew what was going to happen and I looked away. He lifted my chin to make me meet his gaze.

When I did he started to lean in. I pulled away. Why? I couldn't set my heart up for heartbreak. It was so quiet that I could hear my phone ringing. My phones ringing! I stepped out of the water and walked over to our stuff. I picked up my phone to see that I have a miss call from Avery.

I listened to the voicmail and she said-

Voicmail From Avery: hey babygirl I know your still mad at us, but we completely understand. We wanted you to come and stay with us this weekend. Obviously we don't think you will. Well anyways we love you!"

I locked my phone and put it down. I sat on the towel when I saw Bradley sitting next to me.

"Hey we need to head back it's getting late and we got school in the morning" I hear him say

I slipped all my clothes back on. I ran my fingers through my hair to try and tame it. He did the same.

Catching feelings for someone you know your just not right for really really sucks. Even if he is my bully. They'll be gone by tonight. I never thought I would catch feelings for the one and only Bradley Simpson.
