My Life as the Dead- Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Bella's POV

As I was in my first class I wondered if Edward liked me. Well I know he likes me as a friend, but anything more than that? Maybe? Better not push it; I just met up with him again after a century.

After the first class I had gym. At gym I had to act human and I was a klutz. We had to play volleyball. I accidentally hit a boy in the back of the head with the ball. He turned around and started talking to me.

"Your Isabella Swan, right? I'm Mike Newtown, pleased to meet you."

"Yes, I'm Isabella but please call me Bella." it was beginning to become a habit telling people what to call me. "Pleased to meet you too Mike. Sorry about hitting you in the head" I said, offering him my best smile. I spun around and luckily it was the end of class. I dashed down to the change room, barely at human pace, to change back into my school uniform so I could meet Edward's family; the Cullens and the Hales.

Just as I was walking out of the the girls of the change room, that Mike Newton kid came up to me, blocking my exit.

"Mike will you please move?" I said, then sighed.

"Bella, will you go out with me? Be my girlfriend?" he begged. Wow, that caught me off guard. I just met him like five minutes ago.

"Uh Mike, we practically just met, so sorry no."

"Oh, maybe tomorrow?" he asked. Well, I've got to give it to him; he sure is persistent.

"Mike. Move. Over. Right. Now." I hissed. This kid was really getting on my nerves.

"Okay," he said but didn't move,

"So a yes?" he persisted. How has he got the nerve?

"No! Piss off!" I said through gritted teeth. He stepped to the side, and I threw myself through the door. Great, now I was going to be late for Edward and his family unless...

I quickly turned invisible and flew to the cafeteria. When I was visible again I went over to the Cullens.

Hello Bella, this is my family. Guys this is Bella." Edward said. I soon found out that a short girl that reminded me of a pixie with a short, black bob that flared out at the bottom was Alice. A boy or a man rather who had blond hair was Jasper. Another girl with long blond hair was Rosalie. And a big, muscly guy that was a bit scary with black hair was Emmett. I noticed they all had honey- gold eyes. They all gave me friendly greetings as did I.

Alice started sniffing.

"Hey Bella, you don't have a scent?" She asked. Edward and I explained to them everything. Our human lives, how I died, and how I got to sort of live.

"Oh I get it now!" Emmett boomed so loud the whole cafeteria could hear. Rosalie shushed him and rolled her eyes. I giggled and both Rosalie and Emmett looked at me questionably.

"Oh Emmett and Rosalie! You prove that opposites sure do attract!" I said, trying to hold back giggles. It didn't help that everyone else burst into laughter. Alice and Rose with their tinkling laughs, Edward and Jasper with their low chuckles, and Emmett with his booming laugh. Everyone but Emmett stopped laughing. Emmett continued to laugh, noticed we had stopped, stopped himself and looked down. If he could still blush, he would have put the reddest tomato to shame.

We talked until it was the end of lunch. Luckily, Edward and I had Biology together. Before we left the cafeteria, Emmett made some stupid wisecracks.

"Hey Eddie, Bellie!" He started. I heard a hiss and looked to Edward and saw his expression; whatever Emmett was about to say had Edward a bit mad. I also something else, lust?

"I hope you guys have some FUN in Biology!" he said and ran away, faster than a human but slower than a ghost but not quite full vampire speed either.

I expected Edward's expression to be annoyed or pissed off but he had lust in his eyes. Then for a moment I wondered if we were more than friends. Then I shrugged it off.

Maybe they are meant to be together just like in the Twilight books. Maybe it doesn't matter what or who they are, they are still soul mates. Maybe I should go to sleep because I'm tired. Lol, sorry if there are any mistakes; as I said I'm really tired.
