Seven months later
The tiny ding of the bell above the door echoed in the small bakery late in the afternoon. Seeing the door swing open and Andie couldn't help but let a wide grin curl across her lips. Chris approached the glass case of delicious pastries and leaned his muscular arms on it while looking at Andie.
"What can I get you?" She played it off.
"Hmmm, probably something sweet," He scratched his beard.
"How about a brownie?" Andie asked.
"I was thinking something sweeter than that..." He trailed off.
"Well I don't know what I have sweeter than that," She shrugged.
Chris grinned and motioned for her to come closer. Andie rested her arms on the opposite side of the glass and let Chris lean in to connect their lips for a soft kiss. they both savored the feeling and left their lips pressed together for a long moment before pulling away.
"Mhmm that was definitely the sweetest thing here," Chris smiled, making his blue eyes crinkle up and sparkle.
"That was so cheesy," Andie laughed.
"But you love me," He chuckled while stealing another small kiss.
"Against my better judgement, yes I do," She kept on giggling.
Chris' wide smile dawned his lips and he couldn't help but let out his boisterous laugh. He looked around the bakery and when he saw the few people that were in there were either buried in a newspaper or their laptop, he came behind the counter and wrapped his arms around Andie's small frame from behind. He kissed her cheek and gave her a soft squeeze while whispering, "I love you Andrea Jane Callahan."
Andie turned her head so that she could see into Chris' soft blue eyes, "I love you too Christopher Robert Evans."
"Told you we'd be good together," He gave a cheeky smile.
"Well I can't be right about everything.... just most things," Andie teased him.
Chris just let another another laugh that Andie had decided was the cutest laugh in the world. He pressed another kiss to the top of her dark hair and let his fingertips run up and down her arm softly.
"Are you coming to my mom's house for dinner tonight?" Chris asked.
"Uh huh, so is my mom," Andie replied before laughing, "Scotty did inform me that I wasn't allowed in the door unless I brought a cherry pie though."
"Hey, I agree with my brother, you make the best pie." Chris grinned. "I better marry you and then I can have your pies all the time."
"Good to know that the only reason you'd marry me is for my pie," She playfully mumbled while organizing the glass case full of baked goods.
"That wouldn't be the only reason baby," Chris cooed while pulling her small willowy frame into his arms. "Those blueberry muffins are the other reason."
Andie smacked Chris' muscular chest while he just laughed his boisterous laugh. Andie couldn't help but let out a few giggles before she shooed him out the door, telling him that she had work to do and he distracted her too much which Chris knew was true. He managed to steal a few more kisses on the way out as well as cookie from the display on the counter but while she ushered his hunky frame out the door, she slipped a bag into his hand.He chomped down the cookie while walking to his car and opening the bag Andie gave him. He reached inside and found his favorite chocolate cupcake. What caused him to stop walking and smile brightly down wasn't the cupcake thought, it was the thin blue icing carefully placed on top that said 'I love you' and had tiny beautifully drawn hearts around it.
Chris knew that if anyone else saw his cupcake with the sentiment written on top they wouldn't think anything of it, in fact, they may even think it was silly but he didn't think that. What captured him so much about it was that his girl, his beautiful Andie, had made this for him and what got him even more is that he knew the sentiment written out on top would be something he always felt for her as long as he was living.
