Chapter 16: Darkness Arrives... Part 2

Ethan made it out of the wooded area and began searching for Sofia, when he suddenly heard what sounded like her screaming for help. He raced over to where her voice was coming from and saw a horrifying sight, there was Sofia being pinned against the wall by what looked to be two short knights. "I wasn't tresspassing!" Sofia Shouted angrily, "Do not lie to us princess!" glared Squire Vaughan "You thought you could try and sneak onto OUR grounds, only to tease us about the day you and that fool Prince Hugo beat us to the finish line and won the Flying Crown! you cheated!". "Thats ridicules! I did nothing of the sort!" Sofia glared back, Squire Vaughan got right in her face "You asked for it" He Said in his most horrid voice "Vance, let's lock up this 'little girl'", "With pleasure" Squire Vance Smirked.

Suddenly, Squire Vance was knocked on the head and he dropped to the floor. Vaughan quickly turned around to face whatever was behind him only to be greeted by a monster-sized person dressed in black and red, Ethan growled and picked up Vaughan, he pinned him against the wall while Sofia ran back and watched in astonishment. "You dare put your hands on an innocent little girl? You dare attempt to falsly accuse her? YOU DARE PUT YOUR HANDS ON MY BABY SISTER!?" Ethan Roared and he raised his fist, "No please! Please don't!" Vaughan Screamed in horror "S-She tresspassed on our p-p-private grounds and we caught her in the act. She must be punished!", "That's not true!" Sofia Snarled back "I came over this way because of an argument, I just wanted to let go of my emotions and have some alone time! It's YOU who needs to be punished, Vaughan!". Ethan had heard enough "Thank you, Sofia, that will do" he turned back to Squire Vaughan "Shame on you. Shame. Now for punnished!" his fist headed strait for the Squire's face, knocking him clean out.

After a few seconds of breathing heavily and angrily, Ethan finally calmed down and slowly turned to Sofia. He then kneeled down to her level "Are you alright?" He Asked softly, "That was close..." Sofia Said, still shocked, "Thank you!" She hugged her big brother as tightly as she could "I had no idea we were near the Junior Knights Academy, they thought I was tresspassing and they didn't even give me a chance for me to explain myself". "I'm so... sorry about the argument..." Frowned Ethan "I wasn't thinking strait, i just... felt worried". "Worried?" Sofia Asked "About what?", "That the King was trying to take you and mother away from me..." Ethan sadly Replied "Just because me and... REAL father left, didn't mean the King could just seize the opportunity to welcome you two into his life of royalty! i can't lose you again! just like you can't!", "Aww..." Sofia Smiled "He hasn't taken me and mom away from you, you're just adjusting to your new life, AND having him as a new father". "I understand that now..." Ethan Sighed "One moment i like him and the next i wanna thwack him, It's a SEVERE problem, and it needs sorting. Still, I'm truly sorry... for everything", "It's okay, you made up for it by helping me" Sofia Smiled back. "A big brother always looks out for his younger siblings, the moment I saw you being bullied by those... overgrown children, my instincts fired up and I just... acted without a care in the world", "It's okay" Sofia as she put her hand on his cheek "You saved me, even if I wasn't in danger". Ethan slowly picked up his little sister and embraced her gently, and he sighed happily in responce. They remained that way for the next minute before Ethan finally put her down, "Let's head back towards Royal Prep" He Smiled happily and they both held hands and set off for Royal Prep Academy.

1 Hour Later

Sofia Sighed "I'm gonna miss this place, i have so many great memories growing up here", "I can tell" Ethan Smiled, suddenly his Chain began to glow and displayed a holographic clock. "Oh shi- oh bother!" He Exclaimed "We're late getting back for dinner! we have to get home now, mum will be worried sick!" Sofia started running only to be stopped, "Climb onto my shoulders, i have longer legs, meaning we'll get there faster". Sofia wasted little time, She climbed onto her big brothers shoulders and he raced back home to the castle.
