Epilogue (5 years later)

"Is everything ready?" I walked outside and asked Tristan who was standing by the barbeque pit next to Damion the smell of the hamburgers and hotdogs filled my nose.

"Yea baby they almost done," he smiled and gave me a quick kiss.

Its been five years now and Tristan still treats me like he did years ago.

"Mommy can I open my this I seen Chanel run up to me she was holding a pink gift box.

I shook my head.

"Not until later baby I told her today was her and Cody's birthday they are now five.

The backyard was filled with pink and blue streamers balloons and an inflatable waterslide.

Tyler was playing with Cody they were chasing each other with water guns all over the yard.

Trina was sitting in a lawn chair as her and Damion's daughter Melody was running around playing with my daughter Kiara.

"Cake is here Niki announced and came from behind me after Tristan's dad died he ended up getting the house next door to us so he could keep an eye out on her.

"Just put it on the table the food is almost ready Tristan told her as him and Damion started loading up meat on a pan.

Soon the backyard was filled with people as we all ate and talked it was time to cut the cake. Chanel and Cody stood in front of the half pink and half blue cake. As we sang Happy Birthday Chanel was smiling and happy she was a social butterfly while Cody was holding on to my dress Cody was more of the standoffish type.

After we were done Chanel ended up blowing all the candles on the cake as everyone clapped.

Later after opening presents and letting the kids play a bit more the sky was starting to get dark so I quickly cleaned them up and sent them to bed.

When I came back downstairs I could hear laughing coming from the backyard I saw Tristan, Damion, Trina, and Tristan's sisters all sitting in lawn chairs in a circle Ms. Jackson was playing on the radio and they all were drinking and smoking cigars.

I came out into the warm summer night.
"Whats up I said pulling up a chair next to Tristan.

"Girl not much Tristan thinks I need to find a good guy and settle down Niki said.

"There's plenty of good men even if they are fucked up sometimes Trina said looking over at Damion with a grin on her face.

I'm glad he finally stepped up and started doing the right thing for his family.

"I thought DJ was coming Tristan asked.

Damion shook his head.

"He doesn't come back from the reserve until next week." Damion told us.

After what happened years ago DJ decided to join the Reserves after high school.

I looked over at Tristan the man that I loved and smiled.

"Find you a man that will risk everything to be with I said to Niki Tristan looked at me and smiled.

"Yea I agree he said.

"Well that's great and all but I'm looking for a woman who would do that for me."

"You like girl!" Damion said surprised.

Then we all looked at each other and started laughing. As I looked at everyone laughing, drinking and talking after everything that happened in the past I'm glad it did because I wouldn't have things any other way than they are now.

I smiled as Tristan put his arm around me.

Ok so I wanted to make a cute sweet epilogue.

But this isn't the end yet there will be one more book but I'm thinking making it more from Tristan's perspective instead of Candy's

Also it will take ten years later.
