Hey, so this is my first fanfiction and its a Joshler au with a twist, that twist being that there's three tylers, i mean cos who wouldn't love that right? I really hope you like it, but constructive criticism is always appreciated :)

If there was one thing Josh could not stand, it was queing. Well, queing for something exciting was okay, but he was queueing at a bank, which was decidedly not exciting. And at 10 to 6 in the evening, (which was way later than Josh ever liked being out), he was pretty fed up. "Being a grown up sucks" he scoffed to himself, glaring down at his red vans. The old lady in front of him gave a displeased look when regarding his earring and ratted pink, flowery t-shirt. He smiled at her politely anyway, kill em with kindness, that was what his mum always said. He missed her.

A heavily pregnant lady joined the queue behind him, smiling kindly when noticing Josh's defeated look. He quickly let her take his place in the queue, silencing any objection she made.

He twitched as the queue continued slowly, man he really wasn't meant to stand still, all he really wanted to do was jump around, but that was frowned upon in public. He smiled at the tired security guard manning the door, recieving an annoyed eye roll in return. Oh well, some people smiled on the inside.

It hadn't been the best of days to begin with. Josh had been living with his best friend, working two jobs to try and get himself through college and afford rent. It was all going okay. However, his roomate and best friend of two years chose last night to tell Josh he was in love with him. A huge shock which had Josh sputtering in surprise. "I never stop thinking about you" Brendon had confessed, squeezing Josh's soft hands tightly, "we belong together, I'm sure of it." The look of love shining in his eyes, the pure hope and fear across his face. It was too much. Josh had gently and reluctantly extracted his hand from Brendon's iron grip, and sadly revealed that he didn't feel the same way. It hadn't gone down too well. Now Josh had been kicked out of the apartement, any friends he had are ignoring him because of Brendon and he's kinda sorta homeless.

Josh sighed deeply, its okay, its all okay. The miniscule amount of money he'd saved over the years was enough for a cheap, shitty apartement in a cheap, shitty area, but it was better than nothing. Josh smiled in spite of everything, swaying slightly, "it will all be fine" he told himself, "don't worry."

The queue moved grudgingly forward, but before Josh could move with it the front doors burst open and three masked gunmen stormed inside. A shot sounded and the security guard dropped to the floor. The shot was to the shoulder, not fatal but enough to take him out. Josh stepped back in suprise. Blinking slowly in an effort to comprehend the situation. Was this really happening? Oh shit this was really happening. The bank was being robbed. Shit Shit Shit. This day just keeps getting worse.

The three men stepped forward. They were all almost identical in height and stature, the only visible difference was the bandanas they were wearing, each of them sporting a different primary colour. The yellow one held up his hands as if in surrender to reveal a notably loaded gun. "Now I know you're all good boys and girls." His voice was deep and gravelly, Josh kinda liked it. "So be really good for us sweet babies and get your gorgeous asses on the floor."

Everyone was stunned for a brief moment, before lowering themselves down. He had a kind, soothing tone, as if he was talking to children. But there was an edge to it that instilled a need to obey his commands.

The second stepped forward, he was in blue. "Now I'm gonna need your phones." Blue's voice was higher, there was a melodic ring to it. But there was still a menace there.

Blue picked up a basket, making his way around the terrified queuers and workers, whilst Red and Yellow went to do something in the corner. Josh craned his neck, but couldn't quite make out what.

Everyone was visibly upset and several people had started crying. When encountering a crier Blue would gently tell them they would be okay before plucking up their phones and moving on. At some point Red joined him, but he was less sympathetic, grunting at anyone who he seemed to deem annoying.

Josh felt his palms begin to sweat, as they rapidly approached him. Suddenly Blue was stood in front of him, he raised an eyebrow when Josh stared numbly at the basket. "Could you put your phone in the basket please?" God his voice was even more melodic up close.
"I...uh... I don't have one." Josh stuttered out. The intimidating man stared at him for a second.
"B," he called out to the man in red. It was a dark, crimson red, eerily reminiscent of blood. He gestured at Josh, "he says he doesn't have a phone." Red came over, standing menacingly over Josh.
"Who the fuck doesn't have a phone these days?" he asked. It was the first time Josh had heard him speak. His voice was much lower than the others, with a deep, gravelly tone. His old friend Hayley would have called it sexy, which, Josh supposed, he would have to agree with.
"I did, I did have one," Josh managed and the two men raised their eyebrows in sync. "But I left it at my old roomates flat by mistake, and he refused to give it back."
"Your old roomate sounds like a bit of a dick," Red acknowledged and Josh could only nod in agreement. Him and Blue shared a look.
"Okay," Blue said. "We will choose to believe you, but if it comes to light that you have lied to us..."
"We will put a bullet in you," Red finished. Josh's eyes widened slightly.
"Don't, don't worry." He stuttered, "I'm a terrible liar, you would know if I was." The two seemed to smile faintly before moving on, and Josh took a steadying breath to calm his racing heart.

The minutes passed slowly as the hostages sat in a painful silence. Only the light sniffles of those crying could be heard as the three men moved seemlessly around them. This wasn't some spur of the moment decision, Josh realised with a start, they had intricately planned this whole attack.

The silence was suddenly breached when the heavily pregnant woman sat down next to Josh began to sob. "Hey, hey its okay," Josh soothed quietly, hoping the robbers hadn't heard her. "They don't want to hurt us, they're just in it for the money. If we just keep calm and get through it, it will all soon be a bad memory." He spoke to her with a soothing confidence intended to reassure her. It seemed to work as she notably quietened down, hugging Josh close in her fear. He was glad she didn't hear the tremor in his voice or see how his hands couldn't stop shaking. He was glad she seemed to believe his confidence, even if his insides were a jumbled mess of fear. He breathed deeply, "it's all going to be fine," he repeated like a mantra.

Meanwhile the Robbers watched the exchange with a newfound fascination.

Thankyou for reading, stay amazing.
Bu-Bye!
