The four met up at a spare office in the institute. They were to discuss their initial thoughts on the first training session. Code Trace speaks up first. "Ah! I have nothing to teach Code Tet! He's definitely more advanced when it comes to fighting. We're completely reversing the teacher - student roles!"
"Well, your role in the institute doesn't really cover fighting so that's completely understandable." Execute says trying to reassure her.
"Actually, there's so much he needs to learn." Code Zero points out while looking at the white walls. "Like what?" Code Trace asks. "I'll teach him myself next time." "But-" "Don't worry, its just one fight. You still have the whole weekend with him."
"Ah, right. You told Code Six that 'Every poison has its cure', no? That's quite a positive outlook. I didn't really expect that from you." Execute points out "...some poisons are incurable." Code Zero says, completely opposing her earlier words. The three laughed at her indecisiveness. She can't really pick a side on where she stands.
"Anyway, I saw Code Four distressed earlier. Care to explain?" Code Zero says, avoiding the earlier topic. "Oh, don't mind that part. Her shots are pretty precise. Headshots on every target... twice on me." Chase says as the other two laughs at the boy's last words on his sentence.
"Tackling resolve as always, hm?" Code Zero says, completely expecting this from the guy. "She's hesitant but I'm sure that it'll change easily."
"When it comes to this, she has the most resolve." Code Zero claims. Her words only affected Chase "Really? I'm pretty sure you have the most resolve when it comes to the job."
"Zuki's used to this. Of course she'll have the most resolve." From nowhere, Zero sits down on one of the chairs circling the table they're using. "Well if it isn't Zuki's mentor." Chase reacts first at his sudden appearance. "What're you doing here?" he continues on with a bit of hostility.
"I'm only here for Zuki. You can continue even after we leave." Zero gets up, signalling Zuki to do the same. As always, she complies. "Wait, she's the overseer of this specific program. She has to be here." Execute speaks up. "Your little meeting can wait. This is about him." Zero says before the both of them left.
Silence filled the room but Code Trace decided to speak. "I'm still confused at Alice's code name. At first, it was only Code Zero but now, we call her Zuki as well."
"I think its just so that we won't be confused when we're talking to or about Zero and Code Zero." Execute tried to explain.
"But shouldn't it be Code Zuki?" Chase points out which made the two think a bit more. "You're right. Why is that...?"
Chase smirks at the clueless duo. "Is it really that hard to figure out? Zero's playing a queen-less game of chess. Zuki was just a pawn at the start but she's turning into the missing queen."
As they let the theory sink in, silence consumed them again. Code Trace breaks it again with a theory
of her own. "Don't you think that Zuki was the queen from the beginning?"
