"That was so stressful..." Code Four said as she sits down on the common room to join the others as they chat about the three's examination. "Try doing that but alone." Code Trace exclaimed, pointing at Code Zero who was just staring into space absentmindedly.
"Now that I think about it, I'm quite curious as to how you did that mission, Code Zero. Can you tell us?" Code Six asked.
Code Zero turns towards them and begins to explain. "Code Four was right when she said that the target was an idiot. That man was a coward, big headed, incautious and too comfortable with his position. One bullet from a sniper rifle took care of everything. I didn't even need to go inside."
Code Four slams her hands onto the table. "For fuck's sake, I knew I should've circled the building first!" She exclaimed making almost everyone laugh. Code Zero was the only one who didn't but the small smile on her face told her feelings.
"Zuki." A stray voice then called out from outside the group. They all turn towards the voice, their eyes landing on the leader, Zero.
"Office." He straightforwardly said as he stared back at the group. His actions and words made Chase snap. "That was fucking rude! Shouldn't you be more nice to the most capable member?!" He stands up, making Zero look at him specifically. "I've no time for your childishness, Chase. Zuki, come on." He pays him no mind and just repeats his order. The girl stands up and goes up to him with no protest. This pisses Chase up even more. "Zuki, please stop being a such a doormat...!" He said, trying his best to be the most calm he can be when talking to the stoic female. "Chase, you know I'm indebted to him, to the institute..." She points out to the event years ago.
Only Zero, Chase, and her knows about this, making the other five in the scene confused as to what the three were referring to. "You're indebted to the institute? How?" Code Six asked the question everybody had. The clueless ones look at her eagerly only to be shut down from her words. "Don't mind it. It was ways before." She evades the question before walking away with Zero.
Chase slumps down onto his seat and sighing. "What am I going to do with these two...?" He asks himself as the others look at him. "What's the deal with you three? There seems to be a romantic tension." Code Trace asked suggestively.
Chase was visually repulsed. "Fuck no. At most, I only see Zuki as a little sister." He retorted. Code Trace shrugs. "Just trying to find a reason why you're so attached to her. Everytime Zero orders her around, you always try to contradict him."
"All I'm gonna say is that we grew up with her, nothing else." His answer made everyone except Execute jump. "W-w-wait, how old are you guys?!" Execute quietly laughs at them for a bit before explaining for Chase. "They- We're quite younger than what we seem at first. Other than I, they got their position through heritage. I was brought in by Chase to specifically lead."
"Ah, so nepotism..." Code Tet exclaimed but the two were quick to retort.
"So..." Code Six started which grabbed everyone's attention. "Why is Zuki indebted to the institute?" Much to Chase's dismay, she asked a question that everyone forgot about.
He immediately shook his head."I'm in no position to tell anything."
Code Tet pouts, "Come on, is it really that serious?!" He was very curious about this topic. Zuki rarely says anything about herself. The only way he can get any information about her is through others.
"It deals with very private matters. Unless Zuki herself says so, my lips are sealed." Chase was unmoving on his decision to remain quiet. The others tried a bit more to try and persuade him but nothing got through him.
To his delight, they dropped the matter after a while. With a solemn look, Chase reminisces about everything he kept quiet about. He can't ever say anything to them. He wants Zuki to be the one to say it. "Its going to take a while, but the past will always come back to haunt you. One day, you'll have to face them..." He thought as a certain girl looms in his mind.
