"Ooh, this is a good one!" cackled the Joker. "Well, a couple of my friends were going to come in, beat up a few guards, hide them, and put on their uniforms."
"Why did you make a point of telling the Commissioner then?" Batman asked.
"Truth be told, I wanted you to come." admitted the criminal.
"Why?"
"I- imissedyoumaybe..." he mumbled.
"Sorry, what? Did you just say you missed me?" asked Batman.
"Uh.. nope."
"Really?"
"Okay, fine. I missed fighting you." acknowledged the Joker.
"Was there anything else you missed about me?" asked Batman with a smirk.
"This. You.Talking. I like having fun out there."
Batman was feeling kind of awkward, and decided to steer the conversation forcefully in the other direction.
"Who?"
"What?" exclaimed the confused Clown Prince.
"I said, who was helping you?" repeated Batman.
"Well now, why on earth would I tell you that, huh? You're being really mean." Joker sulked.
Batman sighed, irritated by the other man's capability to act like a five-year-old, whilst also being one of the cleverest people he knew. Apart from himself, of course. Eventually , he adjusted his cowl, and said in a slightly more dulcet tone,
"Okay, Joker. Just tell me, please."
"Okay, fine. You did say please." he giggled. "Bane, and Harley's friend with the plants, Ivy something..."
Batman cut him off. "Poison Ivy? She was in on this too?"
"Isn't that what I just said?" contradicted the criminal.
Batman brushed off the snide comment.
"That doesn't matter. I still don't understand why you went through all this trouble just to get me to come here. Why didn't you just put in a request to see me?"
"Oh, silly. I think we both know you wouldn't have come then."
"True."
At that moment the clanging of bolts became audible again, and the female guard from earlier opened the door.
"Excuse me, Batman, you need to leave now. We are implementing the maximum security escape-proof protocols soon." the guard informed them. Batman swept past without a word, in true style, and within a minute, the Joker was fully secured, and Batman was on his way back to the manor.
