Chapter 6

Both women were devastated, each being comforted by their best friends. Meryl hated herself for what she just said and Cher couldn't believe what she heard. 'How can Meryl do this?' I thought we were going to get through this together' was all Cher questioned. Paulette tried to calm her down while getting her ready for the premiere but it didn't seem to work much. Chaz called to wish her luck and found out what was going on; he called Don to get him to talk some sense into Meryl. She couldn't play with his mother like that.

Tracy was trying to calm a sobbing Meryl, still no idea what was going on, no words had been spoken. She heard Meryl's phone from the balcony and stood up to get it since Meryl was too depressed.

"Hello" Tracy answered

"Tracy? Why do you have Meryl's phone?" Don asked from the other side

"Never thought the soon to be ex husband would call" She said

"Where is she?" He asked ignoring her comment

"She is crying nonstop, Cher ran out of the room crying too. They had this weird exchange, I don't understand anything. Meryl hasn't said a word'' Tracy replied desperately

"I do, put it on speaker" Don commended so she did "Meryl what did you do? Chaz called me. I thought you were over your fear"

"I am but it's all happening so fast, it's overwhelming and I can't take it all at once" Meryl said "I have to take in everything that is happening slowly"

"And for that you had to push Cher away?" He asked

"Don, if the press picks up something during the divorce process, they will talk and make awful speculations..."

"What will they pick up? Cher promised to be by your side every step of the way and now she thinks you're scared again" Don said

"Meryl scared? Of what? You are the strongest woman I know" Tracy interrupted

"Sweetheart, remember that love can conquer anything and the divorce process and the media will only last a couple of months. For the press, Cher is only moral support" Don said

"You know she is more than that" Meryl said

"Huh?" Tracy thought

"I do, but do you?" Don asked. Meryl looked at an intrigued Tracy. He was right; she had made a huge mistake driving away the one who she felt most secured with.

"Cher is my everything, Cher is the women I have love for 35 years and the one I want to spend the rest of my life with" Meryl stated with all the security in her heart. "God I'm so stupid'"

"Holy shit!! Seriously??" Tracy exclaimed. Making Meryl chuckle

"Yeah you are, now fix it" Don said

"Thank you again Don" She responded

"Anytime" with that, they both hung up

"Back up!! You like women?" Meryl nodded and Tracy's jaw dropped "And not just any woman, CHER!!!! Who would have thought?" Meryl was amused by Tracy's surprised reaction.

"Tell me everything about you and Cher. I can't believe it" Tracy pleaded

"Ok but let's start moving or we'll be late for the premier" She responded.

Both of them started getting ready all the while Meryl was telling Tracy everything about her relationship with Cher. They were on the road already but Meryl was distracted.

"Sweetie relax, it's going to be alright" Tracy tried to assure her friend

"I hurt her bad; it's the second time this happens. Only the first time we had a fight. I hate myself right now, this is how she mist have felt the first time we fought" Meryl frowned
