"Goodnight" I mumble to Colby as we crawl into my bed. "Goodnight" he responds, turning off the light on my small nightstand.

Awkwardness fills the air as we lay on our sides, as far away from each other as possible to the point where we're almost falling off the bed.

I still don't like Colby.

You could tell me reasons to love him, but it'll never happen.

I groan as the awkwardness increases by every second that passes.

"Hey Blondie?" I hear Colby ask softly.

"Yeah?"

"Can we cuddle?" He asks, making me turn over to face him.

"What? No." I say, turning back on my side.

I can almost hear Colby smirk from behind me.

Before I know it, Colby wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me closer. Why do i have to be so light?

I hear Colby sigh happily.

I couldn't help but smile as I take in his scent.

I'm gonna have a good nights sleep.

[NEXT MORNING]

"Sam" I hear a deep voice whisper, while shaking me gently.

"Huh?" I ask groggily, rubbing my eyes.

"Its time to wake up" I hear my step-brother say, getting off the bed.

I nod, and get out of bed stumbling over to my closet.

I pick out a short sleeve shirt, some black jeans, and the same worn out vans I wear almost daily.

I go into the bathroom and brush my teeth, not realizing that Colby didn't unpack his bag. But I shrug it off as I remember he could just dig through his bag.

I walk out of the bathroom to see Colby dressed, only pulling on a sweatshirt to finish the look.

"Hey" i greet, stretching.

He smiles.

We soon grab our phones, and head downstairs.

"How was sleep?" My mom asks us as soon as we enter the kitchen Colby replies with a 'good' and I just nodded.
