After over two months of giving us feels and making us scream 'GOALS' every time we open Instagram, singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes and his girlfriend Coppélia Nichols have caused quite the stir on social media. Or more accurately, her ex-boyfriend has. Last week on his 20th birthday following pictures of the couple reuniting when Nichols surprised Mendes in Amsterdam for the celebration, a Mason Lincolns posted a picture himself depicting him and the dancer in question.

This shocked fans into next week as they recognized Nichols instantly. Turns out that Lincolns was an ex-boyfriend of hers. Rumors started spreading like wildfire that she was cheating on our sweet Canadian but Amanda Myers, Nichols best friend, assured everyone that the picture was taken before Nichols met Mendes and she would never cheat on the singer.
