This is exactly what happened with Mason. She fell too hard and too fast and didn't realize she was falling straight into a trap.
Ken
Except I have to agree with our daughter and say that Shawn isn't Mason.

And don't start with the 'how would you know' crap because I've done my research

The kid is perfect for our daughter. He's as passionate about music as she is (even uses it as a therapy himself just like her), he's funny, he's a fanboy just like she is a fangirl, and he treats her like a freaking princess, Grace!

He even got a crowd of thousands to sing Boulevard of Broken Dreams for her birthday after barely dating for a few weeks. You know how much she loves Green Day.

I remember Mason giving her extravagant gifts as well just to keep up the facade.
Ken
But these aren't extravagant for every girl like Mason's were. They're specially designed for Lia.
Ken
And I can't recall a single moment where I even thought that Mason would help Lia in a time of need. Shawn brought her to an award show (at her request I might add) and got her through an attack that happened that night
Ken
Trust me, I hate the idea of Lia going through that torture again but Shawn's a good kid
Ken
Just give the kid a chance, Grace. He'll surprise you.

I guess I could try, if only for Coppélia's sake. But I make no promises
