Nines walked into the department with his older brother and his brother's android. He held a cup of coffee in his hands, cold icy blue eyes scanning the room. He sighed softly and made his way to his desk which was across from his brother's.

He was the cold type, the 'don't come near me or I'll bite your head off' kind of guy. The workaholic. His brother, on the other hand, was the exact opposite. They look the same but act completely different. Their eyes and their height was something you could tell them apart from. Nines was the taller one with the blue eyes that held an icicle-like shade. Connor was the shorter one with the brown eyes that made him look excited all the time.

Connor stood in front of his brother, fidgeting with a folder in his hands after grabbing it off of Nines's desk. "Hey um...Nines, Hank and I are going to go to that crime scene to look for more evidence..."

Nines shrugged a bit and took a sip of his coffee. "Alright, I honestly don't mind where you guys go...even if you're rendezvousing to god knows where..." he mumbled against the lip of the coffee cup.

Connor nodded and turned to leave after putting the folder back. "Okay, Nines, I was just letting you know..." he said to him before walking over to the HK800 model or otherwise known as Hank and dragged him out of the department.

Right as soon as the doors to the entrance closed, Captain Stern's door burst open. "Reed! Get your ass in here!" she shouted at Nines.

Nines rolled his eyes but put his coffee down. He got up and made his way to Captain Stern's office, his gait was a long stride due to his long legs. He went in and closed the door. "What is it, Captain?" He asked her, folding his arms. His icy eyes rested on the Captain, giving her a cold glare.

Stern sighed. "Have a seat." She said to him, gesturing to one of the seats.

Nines nodded and sat down in one of the blue velvet armrest chairs. He hadn't noticed the figure sitting in the chair next to him, their feet up on the seat with them in a squatting position and a light blue shade coming from one side of their face.

"What is it that you wanted, Captain?" Nines asked, his voice held no emotion as if he was one of the androids himself.

Stern looked at him with a mirroring expression to Nines's. "Since your brother's android partner was such a big success, the department has decided to give you one as well..."

Nines scoffed. "I'm perfectly capable of tackling a case on my own. I don't need a load of plastic's help." He told her flatly, his arms folded and his long legs stretched out slightly.

The figure next to him finally grumbled, "And I don't need a sack of meat like him telling me what to do."

Nines looked over and finally realized it was another android, the LED a lighter shade of blue than what Hank's was and the blue armband was the same shade as the LED.

The androids coat was pretty much just a black on white hoodie with the words on the back flashing between 'CYBERLIFE' and 'ANDROID'. He watched as the android uncurled itself from its fetal-like position on the chair.

The triangle on the left side was the same blue as the LED and the armband. On the right side, words were flashing between the model name 'GV900', the serial number in smaller digits underneath the model name '#323-654-361-91', and the word 'Pending'.

"Well I'm sorry Nines, after seeing your productivity these past few weeks you haven't even touched the latest cases on your desk. I always end up having Connor or one of the others taking them" Stern told him. "This is only until you can get shit figured out and get your head out of your ass." She added suddenly.

Nines scoffed again and stood up. "Alright then. I'm going back to work." He said suddenly as he walked out. His hand rested on the doorknob right when Stern stopped him.

"Oh, and it's going home with you." She told him.

Nines rolled his eyes and left, slamming the door behind him. He headed back to his desk and grabbed his coffee, motioning to take a sip before he was suddenly stopped by someone.

"Detective, that coffee is cold." The android from earlier started, moving to take it from him and put it in the trash.

Nines stopped it. "Ever heard of an iced coffee, toaster?" He asked it in a sour tone before grabbing the cup from the GV900's hands. The drink had originally been at the perfect temperature for him but now it felt 10 degrees colder, he just didn't want to waste coffee that was correctly made his way.

GV900 gave him a look, shaking it's head and taking the cup away from him again. "I'm not letting you drink this, you sack of organs." It mumbled before moving to the break room to make him another one.

It threw the cup away and made its way over to the coffee machine, grabbing a cup and filling it with what the coffee was in the previous cup, the perfect temperature, the perfect flavor, perfect everything.

"Man, this asshat sure is a Mr. Perfect." GV900 muttered to itself. It put the lid on after stirring all of the contents together. Before it took it back to Nines, it looked around, finding various things about the department.

It let out a sigh it really didn't need to make as it walked back to Nines. It held out the cup and looked down at him. "Your coffee, asshole."

Nines looked up at it and frowned, taking the cup from it and putting the hot liquid to his lips. He noticed that it was the way he had it before. Nines looked up at the tin can and gave it a weird look. "How did you get it to be perfect, scrapyard?" He asked it, getting up and showing that it was shorter than him by at least a few inches or half a foot.

The android's face sat the same expression, giving Nines a better look at it. The android's dark hair looked so soft that he was resisting to touch it or run his fingers through it. The metal package had eyes that looked a little like wood that was put into a fire and was slowly turning into charcoal. He could feel the hatred burning into him just by looking into its eyes. Nines had noticed that Cyberlife had managed to give an Android stubble, he knew that Hank had a beard and all but he never imagined stubble on such a thing.

"I have a program that allows me to get to know my partner well for better success in the cases." It responded, its hands going into its pockets on the coat it was wearing.

Nines nodded and looked away before he could think of much else, picking up the folder Connor was fiddling with minutes prior. He opened it and saw the case. It was a homicide, the victims were an entire family including the android. He looked at the piece of scrap metal and downed the coffee so then he wouldn't waste it again.

"Come on plastic asshole, we got a case to take care of." He said in a not-so-happy tone as he grabbed his coat and put it on himself.
