I woke up immediately and found myself laying in a hospital room

I looked around and saw that the room was empty. I wondered if this was a dream as well. Suddenly the door opened and Aleah walked in. I perked up and sighed, smiling.

"Aleah"

"Max" she said running up to me and hugging me, dropping the food that she had in her hands.

"I thought you'd never wake up" she whispered in my ear. I pulled her closer to me. The heart rate machine starting beeping faster, indicating that my heart was beating fast.

"Your heart is beating really fast, are you ok?" She asked, pulling away, as I blushed and nodded. The doctor came in shortly after my heart beat slowed down. He explained my injuries, stating that they were minor and that I should still be careful when I go home in a few hours. I nodded. The door opened again and in walked Aunt Bella.

"Oh my gosh are you ok?" She walked over to me and hugged me.

"Yes, I'm fine Aunt Bella" she pulled away and I saw Aleah over her shoulder.

"Oh Aunt Bella this is Aleah" she turned and saw the small girl.

"Oh well hello dear" she smiled and hugged her. They talked for awhile until my aunt had to leave. Aleah turned to me and sat down by my feet.

"I thought you died" she started out softly.

"Yeah, your dad seemed pretty intent on sending me to the hospital" she looked up at me, confused.

"How did you know it was my dad?" She asked. I looked up at her.

"I had a weird dream. After your dad had knocked me out, I woke up in a forest, laying on a hammock outside of a small, wooden hut. You helped my wounds heal, then we headed out to this beach. We had a deep conversation about my parents. We'd ended up hugging and I started tickling you. We both laid on the ground, me hovering over you. After a few words were spoken we..." I stopped, too nervous to say what happened next.

"We what?" She asked, curious. I looked away from her gaze.

"We...kissed" I said closing my eyes, waiting for like a slap or something. Instead I felt the bed shift and soft lips kiss my cheek. I looked up, cheeks now a bright red.

"That's the only kiss you're getting until we go on at least three dates" she said smiling. I laughed.

"Ok" when our laughter died down, I decided to ask.

"Would you go on a date with me?" She pretended to think about it.

"I don't know, are you good at dating?" She asked jokingly. My face went serious.

"I don't know. I've never dated anyone before" her smile left her face.

"Why not?" I looked up at her as tears formed in my eyes.

"When my parents died, I didn't want to fall in love with anyone because I knew that I'd lose them somehow and I don't think that I could handle that anymore" I said, a few tears falling down my red cheeks. She smiled and grabbed my hand gently.

"You won't lose me. I promise" I smiled.

"Ok"
