A 17 year old boy was standing barefooted in the shallow water of the ocean...he was repeating the same sentence to the waves-
"Even if you touch my feet a thousand times, I won't forgive you for taking my parents away."
We were currently walking in the woods. It was about 5 am. It was dark and I didn't know where we were headed, but I'm trusting Aleah that she knows where she's going.
"So where exactly are we going?" I asked her, almost tripping on a root.
"It's a surprise," I rolled my eyes at her response.
"Ok so you're not gonna tell me, great" I replied sarcastically. She just laughed.
"You'll be fine, pretty boy" I stopped moving at her words and looked up at her. I smiled and continued following her. As I walked through the dark forest, I tripped over another root and fell down.
"Ow" was all that came out. Aleah turned around.
"Are you ok?" She asked.
"Yeah I'm fine" I replied.
"Good"
"Why?" I asked before she started laughing at me. I smiled and playfully rolled my eyes. I stood up and walked over to her. She stopped once I was in front of her. She looked up at me with a tint of fear in her eyes. I slowly lifted my hands and placed them on her waist. The look of fear in her eyes, now gone. I pulled her into a hug, her arms wrapping around my neck. We stood there for a few minutes.
"We'd better get going if we want to make it by sunrise" Aleah whispered into my ear. I nodded and let her go. She led the way again, me following and making sure not to trip on another branch. After a few minutes I started hearing the rush of water.
"Hey Aleah?" She glanced back.
"Are we at the ocean?" She smiled and pulled away some willow tree leaves, like you would see in movies. I walked out and immediately fell in love with the view.

I stared in awe at the pink sunrise. Aleah laughed at me.
"What?" I asked smiling.
"It's like you've never seen the ocean before" she stopped laughed and just smiled. I looked down. I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"What's wrong?" I looked over at her.
"Do you remember when we first met," she nodded, "you asked 'what brings you to the beautiful ocean?' Or something like that. I said nothing. But the thing is, the oceans holds a terrible memory for me..." I paused.
"Go on, don't be scared" she reassured me, gently placing her hand in mine.
"My parents were out doing their job, studying about whales, when a storm came. Only one man survived the storm. Everyone else drowned or froze to death in the water. My parents included . I was only five" I looked down as tears formed in my eyes. She squeezed my hand. She walked in front of me and wrapped her arm around me, still holding my hand. I put my head into her shoulder, letting a few tears fall. She rubbed my back comfortingly. She put her head into my shoulder and sighed.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to reopen an old wound" I took a shaky breath.
"It's fine. You couldn't have known if I never told you" I whispered. I felt her kiss my head, reminding me of my mother whenever I would get hurt. I pulled away, a few more tears falling. She laughed slightly.
"We can't have you crying now can we? Not when we have this view" I chuckled as she started wiping my tears with her hand.
"I guess you're right. Not when I have this view" I agreed, looking at her and smiling. She put her head into my chest, her cheeks tinted red. I laughed.
"Is that how you always react to a complement?" I asked her.
"No" her voice spoke, muffled. She pulled away and smirked.
"Only when a cute guy compliments me" she responded, heat rising onto my cheeks.
"Is tHAt hoW You AlwAYs reAct tO a COmPlEMEnt" she said in a mocking manor. I rolled my eyes. I looked at her and picked her up in a hug and spun her around. She laughed, yelling at me to put her down. I gently put her back on the ground. And stared at her.
"What?" She questioned. I slowly leaned forward. She closed her eyes, but before our lips met, I started tickling her sides. She burst out into a laugh and fell to the ground. I continued to tickle her.
"Stoooooop" she laughed. I obliged and put my hands onto the soft sand.
"You know you're not supposed to get someone's hopes up" I gave her a confused look.
"What are you talking about?" I asked her.
"What happened before you started tickling me" I sighed and smiled.
"You mean you wanted to?" I asked again. She sat up.
"Yeah...I did" I stared at her, our faces only inches apart.
"Ok" I replied and slowly leaned in until our lips finally collided. ~~~~~ I woke up immediately and found myself laying in a hospital room.
