It's been a few hours since I left Aleah's house. I didn't get to talk to her on my way out, even though I wanted to so badly. I was laying down on my bed, my hands covering my face. 'I need to get out' I stood up and walked to the door. I headed to the living room, but stopped. I saw my aunt and uncle sitting on the couch.

"We can't continue to take care of him, we're running out of money. And it doesn't help the fact that the boy does nothing." My uncle said.

"But honey, he's family" my aunt replied.

"Well he either stays and gets a job or he's out" my uncle said, walking out of the living room and passed me. My aunt looked up at me as I walked in.

"I'm so sorry Max. I tried" I sat down next to her and wrapped my arms around her.

"I know, I know. I'll just have to find a job so I can stay" she looked up and nodded. She then wiped her tears.

"Well I better get going, I have a ladies meeting at Starbucks." I smiled.

"Go have fun" she nodded and walked out the door. I frowned and put my head into my hands. 'I need to go see Aleah' I stood up and walked out the door. I walked down the sidewalk.

"Where was her house again?" I asked myself. I turned down the sidewalk.

"Wait this looks familiar" I mentally slapped myself. 'Of course it looks familiar, it's a suburban neighborhood, idiot, all of the houses look the same' I sighed and sat down on the sidewalk. I then heard shouting. I looked to my right and saw a guy pushing a girl. I stood up, ready to defend the girl, but she looked familiar. My eyes widened.

"Aleah" I whispered. I ran over to her right as the guy was going to punch her, but instead of hitting her...he hit me. I fell to the ground, my vision blurry and my hearing was shot.

"Ahd wjo is tdus? Yrour boygoend!?" I watched as the blurred man slapped her. I tried standing up to defend her.

"No...don't...h-hurt h-her" I managed to get out, trying to crawl to her. The man looked at me, then walked over to me. I saw Aleah shouting something, before I felt some more pain and everything went black.
