Empathic nature within a loving soul
Let me tell a story, let it unfold
Five years old, remember being told
My ebon skin the same as gold
But not for some, no some do hold
Us down, some don't see our shine
Some throw words and that ain't fine
And some will even pass that line
Call the police when you walk in the street
Call you a druggie and ask for some weed
Call you a criminal when out buying milk
Cause dark outside means no dark in
A villain with a vile mentality, morality
Always questioned but not our brutality
Or criminality, so i'll say what they won't
The black experience is not always easy,
Not always a joke, but past all that bad
And all that sad, you'll find what they don't
The tools to make this world a home

The Black Experience.
