Story time, I open my eyes,
My ears, my mind, it's time
To escape, into that life,
Of the knight and his light,
Love shinin' under star-laced sky
So bright, so white that light
Showin' a boy a thing to aspire.
Some days I wished that was me
But all I could see, the dark between
The stars, a reflection of a boy
Born as something very wrong.
The stories they told, of worlds
Of gold, of love, heroes and foes,
Of all you can dream, except for me.
So I stand up I turn to leave
This story it ain't for me
So I sit under my favorite tree
Look up, behind clouds I see
A light sink through the deep
Dark sky, I close my eyes I wish
That my wish for the rest to follow
Will soon cease to exist.
