Am I just, to your eyes, a color?
Feeling and thought not real?
Shining a light on my lack of,
Exposing your dark, the same.
I live a life with pride
And fortunately I've yet to run
And If you look into my eyes
They will speak, as I cannot.
Speak of ups and downs,
Of family and history,
Black power and black dignity,
Of humanity, simply.
