As Edogawa Conan goes to school, his friends joined him, everyone smiling. It's just like every day, nothing special, nothing to worry. They burst into the classroom and prepare for Kobayashi Sensei to arrive.

Sensei walks into the classroom, as always, putting and arranging the books on her desk, and says good morning to the students. Then she starts to write something on the board. While Kobayashi Sensei is writing, a girl marches into the classroom. She has silver white hair braided into two low ponytails, both with open curls. Her eyes are as blue as the sky, and her smile as sweet as honey. That face so innocent and pure, no one wants to pollute her. She wears a proper suit with pale blue jeggings, a pair of scarlet trainers, and glasses, too. She swiftly marches, as swift as the wind, and before you know it, she is in front of the class.
The writing on the blackboard says Chiharu Atsuko. The Asian-looking girl smiles and speaks in perfect English English, "Hi, guys! My name is Chiharu Atsuko, and I will be your new classmate. Nice to meet you all!"

Everyone is confused, but there are only two people who aren't: Haibara Ai and Conan. Well, Conan and Haibara aren't really whom people think they are. They have a secret shared between them. Chiharu smiles again, this time more confident. She approaches a desk near Haibara and sits down, ready for Sensei to speak.

After the first lesson, a bunch of classmates surrounded Chiharu's desk. She laughs and blushes. She is not used to be in the centre of attention. She has a translator beside her ear so that she doesn't have difficulties communicating. Lots of classmates said that she looks like Conan, the style of dressing and the smart looks. "So," Haibara smiles, pushing him forward, "do you want to learn more about her, Mr Detective?"

Conan forces himself towards her and stares into her eyes. She blinks and says in the sweet tone again, "Edogawa Conan, right? Nice to meet you. Though you should remember, detective, that you shouldn't stare into my eyes, they are dangerous." She says as she floats out of the classroom.

After school, Conan and the others start to walk home when they see Chiharu coming out of the school gate as well. "Come and join us, Chiharu!" Genta calls out to Chiharu. She smiles and says, "Sure. My home is this way, too."
As they walk home together, the kids chatter non-stop, while Haibara and Conan fall behind them, talking in a hushed tone. She slows down, curious about what they are saying. As she approaches them as swift as the wind, as silent as a hunter, she tries to eavesdrop, but it didn't work well. Instead, they see her and stops the little chat. Chiharu feels suspicious. Who are they? Why are they so secretive?

"By the way, we want to know more about you, Atsuko-chan. Who are your parents?" Haibara asks.

"My parents..." She shouldn't have asked that question, Chiharu said to herself, "My parents? They died. Both of them." She acts as if she doesn't care, but her heart is bumping on her rib cage.

Conan was quite surprised. "Both your parents are dead? Then you live in a..." "Yeah. I do live in foster." She says it calmly, taking it slow and steadily. She is used to this reaction after all. Conan is a curious boy, always wanting to know things asks, "What happened to them? How did they die? Why did they die? When?" "Woah!" Chiharu stops Conan, "One at a time! Jeez, you are, like, the most inquisitive boy I have ever met.

"When I was 4, we start to have difficulties with money. The money for my education ran short, and my father had to do some dirty work for a yakuza. He managed to pay the debt, but he couldn't pay back the yakuza. So to scare my father, they burned our house here in Japan down. My mother ended up trapped in the building and died.
"Sadly, my father died after this tragedy. He said that he couldn't cope with the sombre without my mother. He killed himself. I was forced to live in the Foster House's care. The people there care about us very much. They empathise with the kids. I've gotten more matured after the incident. I swore to my family that I will be perfect and successful. So I studied and got an IQ over 200. Is it that because I am smarter than a normal kid that you thought I was strange?" She asks, smiling.

"Ah, no, nothing..." Conan says as they came to the front door of the Foster House.
"Then see ya!" Chiharu calls out to her friends.
"Bye!" Conan and the others answers.
As they turn around, Conan whispers to Haibara, "She might be another transfer student like us."

When the others turn around and walk away, Chiharu rushes to a long, dark-haired girl, who is waiting for her in her room.
