The Next Day: Night

Today was uneventful. The highlight of the day was learning that the level of active skills could be increased by killing things, while using the skill. Passive skills are upgraded by purchasing the upgraded version. I am currently making my way to the training area and my target are goblins.

I heard gramps say that they appeared to be getting in through a hole made on the wall. I overheard my father and him talk about sending a subjugation group tomorrow, so tonight is my only opportunity. Through the encyclopedia I learned that goblins are extremely active in night and that they have great hearing and smell, but poor eyesight. The encyclopedia also had examples of weaknesses the goblins had. I was going into battle thoroughly prepared.

I made it to the gate and my mana perception skill is active showing me white spheres. Some spheres are brighter than others, but after viewing gramp's power these are nothing, but trash. 'Wait, did I just call myself trash as well?'

I go through the forest and ignore the LV1-2, while I kill all the LV. 3's that cross my path.

30 minutes later I'm deep in the training grounds, but I haven't seen anything. I was about to give up when 9 dull spheres of light enter my 100m radius. I run towards the spheres and more spheres appear. New spheres stop showing up and I can see from where I am that they are a group of 3 hobgoblins and 6 goblins tearing apart the corpse of an unknown creature since its too dark to tell. 'They are definitely strong, but there's too many. Guess it's time to use a weakness.'

I place a cloth over my mouth and reach into a backpack I had taking out 3 bottles of extra minced red pepper. This will burn their eyes and disrupt their sense of smell. The problem is that I didn't have an effect way of spreading th pepper into the air. I do have 80XP from killing 4 Lv.3 monsters.

The system gives me two options; one are pepper bombs that spread the pepper with a loud explosion. It could help me disrupt their sense of smell, hearing, and vision all in one blast. It's worth 5XP a bomb, but I'll need at least 4 ones for a group this large. The other one is pepper spray that is worth 40XP a can. The advantage is that the blast will be more direct, which improves my chances of stunting my opponent.

I get as close as I can to the group before drawing their attention. They suddenly stop taking the corpse apart and face me. I take a deep breath and activate both Stealth and Magic Body Enhancement followed by throwing the pepper bombs. I cover my eyes and wait. I suddenly hear an explosions followed by screams, I quickly look up and throw daggers to the farthest enemies. I hit a goblin in the chest and a hobgoblin in the abdomen. I kick off, which caused me to feel surprised since I covered a lot of distance in one kickoff, 'This skill is amazing!'

I thrust my spear at the closest hobgoblin's throat. I then throw a dagger at a Goblin piercing its right thigh. I twist the speat and yank it out of the hobgoblin's neck. I swing my spear at a goblin's head making a sick cracking noise causing the goblin to hit the ground violently. I stab the kill the goblin that had the dagger to the thigh by stabbing his head.

The others have recovered, so I run to the bush and run. The don't chase after me since they are regrouping. So far I killed 1 hobgoblin and 2 goblin, while injuring another hobgoblin and a goblin. There's 6 left.

I have my stealth skill active to I slowly walk up to them. I am also testing the capabilities of this skill. I approach a hobgoblin that's scratching his nose. The skill is pretty useful or that was one hell of an itch because I was able to get so close I stabbed the back of his head with my spear. His lifeless body fall to the ground. A goblin was about to slask his sword at me, but I sprayed pepper spray in his direction making him violently cough and rub his eyes. I throw myself at him, while aiming a knife at his chest. I twist the knife and pull it out. I run back to the forest and climb a tree to observe. I check my notifications and it says I killed 4 goblins and 3 hobgoblins. 'The two from the beginning should have died from the injuries.
