The Midnight Love

Chapter XIII

I couldnt back away from these two any farther. I decided to take a defensive stance, my only shot at surviving this was to wait for one of them to make a mistake. And there it was...

The one to the right jumped in the air towards me, while the other who seemed to not be on the same page as him stood there watching. As he flew through the air towards me, I ducked slightly and grabbed him by his ankles. He hit the floor, hard and I swung him around and let him go hurtling to his partner. His partner, who wasnt expecting any of this, didnt have time to react as they collided and fell to the ground. I picked up the knife that lay on the ground by the chair i was in, the one that was used to cut me free, and I drove it into one of their chest's. The next one lunged at me again, foolishly i might add because I quickly and rather easily wrapped my hand around his neck in a vice grip and snapped it.

Now that these two were out of the way, I knew this would be my chance to get away. The loud gunfire was still exploding outside, so I chose to sneak through the back exit of the tent. I peeked through the small opening and saw that it was completly empty as far as i could see. I assumed that everyone had moved towards the fighting in the front. I crept outside as quietly as i could, and once i was in the clearing I burst into a full on sprint up the hill. I checked behind me frequently but saw nobody giving me chase. Once I made it to the top of the hill, I could hear the sound of cars driving by on the free way. I must have been running for a few miles and didnt even realize it. I shook my head, it didnt matter, i just needed to get back to the search party's convoy and get back to the Headquarters.

I continued to quickly make my way back to the gun fire, which only i could hear from this distance and as i reached the front of it, from my position at the top of the hill I could see the savage battle going on. Blood was squirting and pouring everywhere as people were being shot and stabbed and ripped apart. I watched as they ate each other alive, and the smell of all the blood reached me at the top of the hill. It completly overwhelmed me as i wasnt able to control my thrist yet, and i keeled over in pain as the fire in my throat roared as it never had before.

I heard footsteps around me and I quickly got back to my feet. I was able to put the pain of the fire in my throat in the back of my head and concentrate at the people surrounding me. I crouched in a defensive stance and hissed at the vampires who were still hidden in the brush. They came foward slowly, and revealed themselves as NAC officers and I stood up feeling a bit relieved. We made our way back to the main road and jumped into one of our cars. The radio was going crazy in the car with reports of the battle going on at the bottom of the hill. reinforcements were called in apparently because as we pulled away, more hummers were coming in and parking where we had been.

I was glad I wasnt going to be in that fight down there, though I knew that i would be in a battle like that sometime sooner than i would like. I sighed to myself and closed my eyes to reflect on what I just experienced. I thought about what the SAC leader had told me about the origins of this long war, and about why the NAC sent me in alone. I frowned at that thought, not only because I didnt have an answer to that question, but I was afraid of what the answer might be. We finally made it back to the headquarters and I got out quickly. As I made my way inside I grabbed a bag of blood from one of the recruits and drank it feverishly fast on my way to my room.

I opened my door and sighed softly to myself. Bella was standing there, with her leg locked to the side and her hands on her hips, and i knew she was pissed. "baby..." she cut me off. "No, How the fuck could they send you out there alone!? Are they fucking stupid!? you couldve been killed! you were gone all night! i was worried sick!." she screeched at the top of her lungs. The clock said 2:43 am. I didnt realize how long I was stuck in the tent. She went on about how worried she was and about how stupid the NAC was and then the water works came. I pulled her into my arms and burried her face in my chest as she bawled. I rubbed her back and held her tightly. "its ok baby, im home now. I'm right here." i tried soothing her and it seemed to work this time as she let up a bit and sniffled a few times. Her arms were around my neck, and I knew what she wanted. I lifted her up and she wrapped her limbs around my like a starfish and nestled her head on my neck. She was only wearing a tank top and panties, so i quickly closed the door before any of those perverts could get a peek. I carried her over to the couch and she curled up on my lap as i continued to rub her back. She wiped her eyes on my shirt and turned on the tv with a pout on her face.

She put on one of those desperate housewife shows and i groaned dramatically. She turned quickly with a death glare and i put my hands up. "okay, okay im sorry. we can watch it." i mumbled, trying not to get my head bit off. She sniffled and cuddled back on my chest while watching her show. I kissed her forehead and suddenly heard a loud knock on our door. I grunted and got up to get it.

I opened the door slightly, "yes?" i asked, "Hi, captain, sir. I'm private Waters." he saluted me and I gave him a half ass salute back. "I was told to inform you that you earned a Purple star medal, for your courage on the battlefield today, sir. congratulations." He smiled and handed me the ribbon with the medal. "you have also earned the day off tomorrow, sir." he smiled again, and saluted and left. I closed the door and walked back in. I tossed the medal to Bella and she smiled. "thats my man" she got up and kissed me. "yeah I guess, I have to day off tomorrow." I told her. She seemed to light up, " YAY!" she screamed. She jumped up on me and I caught her. "I only have to run one errand tomorrow morning ok? and then im all yours the rest of the day." I said to her. Her small, soft hands cupped my face as she smiled at me. "what do you have to do?" she asked curiously as we made our way back to the couch, and this ridiculous show. "It's a surprise sweetheart" I replied. I knew she hated surprises and she pouted as she climbed on top of my lap in a straddle. "please tell me?" she asked in a small pixie voice as she brushed her lips against mine. "nope, youre not gonna tease me into telling you. this is a serious surprise." I told her sternly. "are you sure baby?" she said as she slid her hand slowly down my chest, past my stomach and under the waist of my jeans. "yes." I said, proud that i hadn't given into her yet. She pouted, knowing I usually give up by now and she looked around the room curiously. "hmmm, you're making this difficult. sex is gonna have to be a little more crazy than usual tonight." She commented as she walked towards the kitchen. I snorted and chuckled to myself at that. "nice butt." i called to her and she turned and winked at me as I headed towards our room.

I got undressed and crawled into bed. Bella came in after me and tossed the drained blood bag in the trash and crawled into bed on top of me. Here we go again, i thought knowing she was going to try and seduce me and make me tell her about my secret errand. She hovered over me as I held her by her waist, and the smell of the blood that she left in her mouth and on her tounge reached my nose. I let out a growl and she grinned widely, then she began to kiss me aggressively. Her tounge swam freely around my mouth without much resistance from mine. It was more like they were dancing, it was perfect harmony for a short few moments before the fire in my throat exploded, as did my body and I spun her over and got on top. I pinned her down as she moaned softly under me as we continued. We bit each other's tounge and lips, tasting each others blood felt amazing. We had discovered something new and we couldnt control ourselves. It felt as though we were floating together as we became one. Our bodies pressed together as the bed sheets ripped and the pillows flew across the room. As we reached an epic climax, I felt her nails dig into my back as she groaned, and then we slowly floated back down to earth. I rolled over onto my back and she laid on top of me. I pulled the blanket over us and kissed her forehead. I smiled when i realized she forgot about my secret morning errand and went right to sleep. I held her closely on my chest and started to close my eyes. I was going to have to get up early, so she wouldnt be able to follow me on my way to do my errand so i needed to get some sleep now.
